This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Wasn't pointing fingers at you my friend. Just wasn't sure if people were waiting on info or if things had slowed down for another reason.

I guess GenCon has got me in the mood to do more gaming ;)

Most conversational stuff doesn't need me to proceed however.

Hi guys.

I have been crap on the game for a month. A mix of trips abroad and work. We have had a work re-org and I have been swamped. Last week I had to run an off-site for 10 other managers and as it was my town I was responsible for the nights out and the alcohol and the dancers and ....

So ... I have been catching up on threads and am really glad we still have a solid core of players who haven't got pissed off with me :)

So I will catch up on all threads but I have noticed that the environment I have created which leads to mistrust and plotting, which is really really Amberish , does slow the play down as every action has a set of cover threads.

My aim therefore is to change the base about a bit and effectively set up a new chapter.  I will try to do this seemlessly from the current narrative I just need to get my head round how that will happen.
the idea is that all the PCs can get a few Xp and a moment's break so they can advance their own background plans.

I also have a couple of new players I will try to integrate, again as seemlessly as I can.

So watch the wiki for activity :)

Seems fair enough. Work must always come first (even if it does involve alcohol and dancing girls ;) ).

Making the changes you are suggesting, seamlessly, will be a big ask so good luck with that; I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that the levels of paranoia are, quite rightly, very high.

I'm interested to know how we will ever get to follow our own personal objectives. I have to say that, on a personal level, I can only see Tristram ever achieving one of his three objectives. I may be wrong on this but I'm wondering if I should reevaluate his objectives to bring them more in line with the speed the game appears to play at.

In no way is this a criticism because I'm really enjoying the game; it's just a bit of a reality check.

Holy crap, guys, I'm terribly sorry. I've taken up three new jobs (yeah, three), in addition to college, so I've been a bit disconnected from the world...

Jibba, if it is still alright, I'm still interested in this. Could you get back to me either way, please? Actually, now the turmoil has died down a bit, I can actually check these sites from work, so hopefully I won't drag you down.

I think a lot of people have been busy lately, not least jibbajibba.

Just in case people are starting to think the game is dieing, I'd like to clarify that I'm still interested in the game and would love to carry on. Hopefully a good number of the rest of you still want to play as well; fingers crossed ;)

It happens. We all have lives too, ... most of us ;) ...

Either way, to echo The GIT, I'm still here and am looking forward to continuing once things start moving again. :D

Hello,

Yeah changing from a local role to a global role has taken a lot more effort than I envisaged.

So this is my plan.

We take the core of active members. Which I think is Elaine, Whis'par, Helel, Tristram, Constantine and possibly Degion. We then add a couple more PCs ... I have 2 already making characters.
Then I tie up the current loose ends and kick off 'Chapter 2'.
Since we have such a focus on Chaos and as a nice way to segue into the next section it would make a deal of sense if the next part was to hunt down the Jinn Mo'kk on their own terrain vis a vis Chaos.

This then gives us a different feel for the next part as we find ourselves dealing with a whole new host of characters and variables.

Currently on top of trying to run a team spread from Sydney to Houston, via Bangalore, Hong, Kong, London and New York I am also writing a Murder mystery (its the season again) but that will be finished in 2 weeks so I aim to have a relaunch at the start of December.

I just thought I'd say "hi" again to everybody. I'm not sure if the game has finally died a death or if there is any chance of resurrecting it but, whichever way it goes, I had a blast playing and I'd like to thank Jibbajibba for putting so much work in to it.

I hope we can continue playing...

So I have been stupid busy at work.

I still have no time to start this as a web project again. I think I could wrangle a trip to our office in Columbus round about Origins time and so was going to pitch the idea of a Spoken Thruths tabletop game in Ohio.

I know The Git is going so Tristram would be present anyone else live within spitting distance of Columbus or can wrangle a trip?

It's good to hear from you again Jibbajibba and I'm definitely up for an Amber session (or two) at Origins.

Is that a dagger I see poking out of the back of Spoken Truths? dead as Caine, i like to say.
I had fun while it lasted, and still have the story playing in my mind, though at times it throws me for a loop, lol.
lemme know how Origins was.

Hello, necroing this thread as I know I few folks watched it specifically.

2 things.

i - Going to do another Amber game at GenCon. I have 2 options take the one I ran 2 years ago, a murder investigation it the Golden Circle kingdom of Florentz (see some details here - http://www.therpgsite.com/showthread.php?t=17942 )

or take the Spoken Truths multiverse and create a one shot that fits into this game world.

The good thing about using Spoken Truths is that The Git that played Tristram is goign to GenCOn with me and he woudl get to play him in a face to face game.
The bad thing is that ST doesn't use any cannon elders outside of Dworkin and Oberon and there is a slew of dense background to this world that would be hard to get across to plyers who turn up for a 4-5 hour one shot.

ii - My website was hacked and I had to take the wiki down - ages ago and I haven't had any time to fix it I am going to take a look this weekend and probably get all the content back up in a universal read mode (this might affect the GenCon game I gues those I suspect the audiences are pretty different..... anyway just letting folks done if I manage to sort it I will post again.

The content from the PCs is uniformly outstanding so its an interesting reference point if nothing else
