OK once the Broken Pattern is fixed what happens to all those copies out in Shadow? in my games they remain as Shadows of the Pattern that can be traversed, when you do this the pattern imprints, but imperfectly and distorted as the Shadow Pattern you walk, Game wise the Shadow Pattern works much the same way as the Broken Pattern abilities, but it doesn't always take you through the "Dark Places", it also takes you through the "Strange Places" and if you let it you can become lost in shadows that defy logic and sanity.
So folks what do you think?
Shadow Patterns might give you all the powers the Pattern give you... But only in their home shadow (so no shadow walking either), and maybe close ones.
So you could manipulate probability, mold shadow, utter a curse, but only there.

An interesting concept, but it would be quite limited as a power; I mean you can do the same thing and more by spending 4 points on the shadow itself.

Oh, totally, that'd be a power for shadow dwellers, IMO, not for amberites.

In my last game i had a shadow of the pattern, a different sigil, called Mal at Riess. It allowed people with human psyche to assay it, and gain an imprint, and use amber style sorcery, though at a dramatically lesser level of power.
Amber sorcerers told players that Mal at Riess sorcery smelled and felt like full power sorcery.
Of course it was suicidal for human psyche to assay the sigil and even if they did it actually using it was extremely hard and dangerous. Someone with such a low psyche used it for defense, detection of magic, and maybe hanging one spell.
Generally chaos Psyche people used it.
The power level of the spells was always much lower, duration a fraction of the high level spells, other features similarly less powerful. But a lightning bolt is a lightning bolt!
Also gaining a high imprint such as broken pattern or amber imprint, though not Logrus, would delete the mal at riess sigil.
It made shadow dwellers tough magical threats, though not able to go toe to toe for more then a few spells, it meant a PC sorcerer couldn't just disregard them. Even the threat of a Mal at Riess foe made the players be careful.
