I just wanted to greet all of you as a new member.  I've been playing RPG's since the d&d basic set came out in '78, and I bought Erick's wonderful diceless rules for Amber as soon as they were published.  I've really enjoyed reading all of your posts and it's got me all fired up to run an Amber campaign again! (something I haven't done since 1999).  It's true that interest in Roger's works have waned in the last few years (I still anxiously await the movie) but forums like yours keep the dream alive.  I can't promise to post informative resource material like some of you, but I've got a germ of an idea for a campaign and I'll try to keep you posted.

This is one of the issues that bugs me regularly, and as Roger's works fade away the ADRP tends to do so as well. The problem is that both Roger and Erick are gone, and no one is really carrying the Amber torch. (And I don't count the new games built to resemble ADRP, because they can't quite be Amber, either.)

Sad that such a creative universe will have faded away soon.

It is a shame that there isn't more being done with Amber, but I think that there's always hope for a revival.  I do think that the "related" projects going on right now, when and if they see print, will end up helping.

I do, too.

Although I have no hope of ever playing either games, I know I'll buy both, and really hope they'll succeed.

This may be silly, but I think that, with WoW being more and more the standard (levels and loot), both for computer games and RPGs, we need games that go outside its D&D-vision and show people that you can do something else.
