This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Between Corwin and Merlin, Zelazny considerably expanded the Amber universe, introducing many new elements.

What have you done to go further? What new elements did you bring forth? How did you make the universe bigger?

I like to take the intuitive if controversial leap that post-Merlin Cycle the power of Trump is governed by Ghostwheel, and he must be assayed, just as walking the Pattern for Pattern or assaying the Logrus for the Logrus.

In the interests of making the universe bigger I always like to explore Rebma, Oberon's siblings, the fate of Dewlin, Sand, Finndo and Osric, and to ponder the true and conflicting nature of the Courts of Chaos.

Just, off the top of my head.

I envisioned the young generation of the Chaos courts influenced by 80's music, with fashion to back it up, as a cultural rebellion against the elders. Groups of youngsters with special shapeshifting/magic powers were searching for musical numbers that were only present in one Shadow or so good they wanted to present them to their peers. This was a fairly new development in the courts happening in the background of the adventures the PC's were having.

The short lines Corwin utters were great, for example the Moon Riders of Ghenesh became a golden horde of crosshadow travelling raiders with space ships made of solid silver light they could manipulate on the fly. They were defeated by elder amberites in the past but were making a comeback.
Any elder amberite got one of these lines per session, to be ignored or followed by the PC's, optional sidequests usually with some power element to be discovered.

And the fairly standard stuff of animated heads preserved in indistructible glass cases, the advisors of the past amber elders that earned exceptional merit. Doing this was all the rage back in the past but seen as distastefull and is omitted from mentioning presently. They did try to take over after all.
