This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

One of the best Amber resources out there, Shadow Walkers is bilingual (french/english), has cool new trumps of the elders, a map and guide to Amber, the land and the city; material about the wildlife and flora of Arden forest, a bestiary of illustrations of some of the creatures seen in the Chronicles, incredible illustrations of the principle swords of the Amberites and other artifacts, a royal family tree, a copy of the peace treaty between Amber and Chaos, a guide to Sorcery, and more!

Quote from: James McMurrayUnfortunately their campaigns link doesn't work. :(

As the sitemap says: Not Available Yet.

BTW: The portraits look awful. Not that they're done that badly, but the style just doesn't fit Amber at all. They're lik a mix between those awful anime "bishonen" and teen soap actors...

I thought they looked very Street Fighter (which is not a good thing for Amber characters IMO).

Well, you did read that its for a campaign set much earlier in Amber's history when the Elders were all still very young, right?

But yea, it is a french site after all... :emot-gay:

Amber's Creek?

Nope, didn't read that much further. Some graphic styles send me far, far away (and not exactly to my happy place). Then again, I don't want to see Boris Vallejo's take on the family... But at least that wouldn't be japanese.

Interesting, given that (canonically, at least) there WAS no time when the Elders were all young at the same time...

{going to check out the site}

Hm, where does it say that?

So they've got Benedict and Random both looking adolescent at the same time.

Yah, I'm with Sosthenes on this one.  They look way too bishy for my tastes.  Give me the Kucharski trumps any day.

Are you a long-term Amber fan? In any case, the reason for the question is that like I said, there's hundreds of campaign websites, and its also a part of the tradition to have all kinds of character trumps in all different styles show up.  This is partly due to one option for gaining extra points wherein you draw a trump of your character, or provide trumps of the elders or other things, to the GM.
I must have a collection of literally hundreds of trumps.

The result? You'll see a lot of websites with their own interpretations of the Elders, with varying degrees of artistic quality and good taste.

Yes, that's true, but Amber campaigns often tend to go outside of canon in one way or another.  This is just another take, not one I would ever use, but there you go.

Fan, yes, but I only played it once years ago and haven't been following it on the internet. I do know my fan-art, though. (At least enough to avoid it)

That won't stop me bitching ;)

Granted, the trumps in the rule book are a little hard to beat.

finarvyn

I've been to this site before, and overall it's one of my favorites. I know that the style of trumps is different from most of the others out there, but perhaps that's part of my fascination with what they have done.

I guess if I ever get my notes organized to the point where I host my own campaign web site, then maybe I can complain at the way others have done theirs. In the meantime, I'll just swipe ideas as I find ones I like and just discard the rest....

Sorry, but although I am German: French are cool people. This cliché of the homosexual, nosy French is just as untrue as that of the stupid, unmannered American.

What???

I feel like I missed something. Anyway, thanks, Schattensturm. Both boulet and I here are french ;) And even if we weren't, bashing on people just because of their country is just plain stupid

He's talking about pundy's smiley upthread. And hey, if you're going to bash on people, at least you should have some reason. Country is as good as anything else. :)

lol So, pundit does have something against french...
I'd be curious to see what and why
