This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

the seller states the bindings different, looks like a kinko's ed. but states that's how it was sold out there...
a novelty at the least.

I could always use another copy...

This is an illegal, bootleg copy of Amber Diceless.

According to the language of ebay, it is covered under 'Replica, Counterfeit Items and Unauthorized Copies' ... I've reported it, and I expect that it will be removed from sale.

There were only two versions of Amber Diceless sold.

The U.S. version, in any of the five (5) printings. Not only was each copy 'perfect bound,' each was also 'smyth sewn,' which means the bindings should outlast the paper.

There was also the French translation, published by Jeux Descartes in France, and also distributed elsewhere in the French speaking world (Quebec, Belgium, etc.), but it was a hardcover with an entirely different set of art.

Legitimate copies were sold in Australia, through at least two different distributors.

What is being offered is an illegal knockoff. The equivalent of a bound photocopy.

Thanks for letting me know.

Wow, I thought Amber DRPG was traduced in several languages, and existed in several versions.

To think my copy is still under plastic :keke:

No  problem Erick... anytime.

By the buy, I noticed Amberzine 11 & 12 sold for $71.10.
WOW
There goes my dream of ever recompiling my amberzines.

I suppose I should start soliciting fellow gamers to put me on the list for 'rights to amberzines' in 'living will'.

Whatcha gonna do Erick?
Oh wait, that would be telling...

Mine have certainly held up to near constant use, and my copy of Amber is a first printing, from 1991. And probably the single gamebook I've used most, paged through most, fiddled with most, and abused most.  The edges of the cover are worst for wear, the cover has one notable tear in it, and the whole thing is looking pretty raggedy, but structurally the book is as good as the day I bought it without any sign of trouble.

I'm guessing that I might have to try to replace the cover someday, but aside from that I can imagine using it for another 16 years and it still being fine.

My 2 1st print copies are still in great condition, worn from use, but that's great to me.
So, are there any notes (source material) that were gonna be used in Rebma that may be floating around Erick?  I bet some was in those later issues of Amberzine, eh?

No, the only translated version is the French.

At one time or another I was chatting with people about Spanish, Italian, German and Greek versions, but none was ever published.

Mostly it's a matter of how well Roger Zelazny's Amber books sold in each language. They were huge in France, at least in part because the publisher did a great job of promotion, and illustrated the covers with a very popular author.

From what I've heard, second hand, the German translation of "Nine Princes in Amber" was a mess, and I don't know if they ever completed publication of the first five books.

You can still buy Amberzine #12-15 at the Phage Press website: //www.phagepress.com ...

There are definitely more copies of Amberzine #11, and they'll eventually be put up for sale at dicelessbydesign.com

None of the Rebma material, including the (gorgeous) cover art, interior art, or written material, has been published. Certainly not in any issue of Amberzine.

Well ... if you look at the cover price you'll see that #11 lists at $10 while $12 (actually 12-15) lists for $50, so their combined cover prices add up to $60 already. Seventy bucks isn't that much higher than cover.

Not a big deal, but Amberzine #11 has a cover price of $13.00.
