Considering running a Play by Post

Although I have an account on Obsidian Portal I have never actually used the site except to keep track of friends. Is a sub necessary to use it to play? I think it wants me to subscribe to access the game forums.

I didn't do anything other than get an account. No subscription. I am using it mainly because it is simple for me to throw stuff on there and create links. Way too lazy to learn a lot of stuff just to have a reference space.


PS - does anyone have questions about being "Officially" recognized" versus being "Of the Blood"

I'm going to have to work out how Obsidian Portal works.

As I understand it 'Officially Recognised' means an elder claims you are theirs. 'Of the Blood' means you are someone's knock off, but they are not admitting to it and the only way you can prove yourself is to walk the Pattern.

Indeed correct Gavken. Being recognized gives you slightly more legal power but it makes for natural enemies and allies as well,

A recognized person is a prince or princess while unrecognized is a lord or lady.

A few other minor things. Mainly it impacts what others think of you. A child of Gerard would get more aid from Caine and Julian than not becuase they are full brothers etc. Things like that.

Soon as I get more characters from the last two hold outs I will have the Npc youngers finalized.

Have run quite a few PBeM for Amber but not a PbP. Which I have just gotten into recently myself. I have run Amber DRP for a number of years and at Ambercon for 5-6 years until life got in the way of having money to go

Looking forward to starting soon.  Everyone should have their invites and stuff for the site. Also if everyone who has not would review the info needed to start playing and send me the player info in that format it would help so I can start posting the Characters to the site. Also note what powers/skills you have public and any that are a secret so I don't reveal something you want kept undercover.

Thinking of being the child of one of the Amberites that died in the first five books (am leaning towards Eric) but with there being no solid way to prove or disprove that inheritance now that his Amberite parent is dead.

Basically he's going to Amber to claim what he views as his inheritance, which'll be somewhat hard for someone who's used to stronger/faster/smarter/tougher than anyone he's ever met.

Trump decks

Everyone gets a Trump deck with all the Elders including the deceased (from the first series). And these

The deck also includes a copy of the minor and major tarot. Something that I will post if I get time. These cards are not Trump but are used for Trump scrying and therefore have some form of Trump Energy residing within them.

You also have 4-5 copies of your own personal Trump made mostly likely by Fiona or Bleys. Who depends on your background.

Sounds Good Daztur - I think the only one that doesn't have a child so far is Deidre though any are possible. Brand seems to be popular.

Since a few of you sent me characters I will be updating the site with PC info and sorting out ranking today, Plus making finally decisions on NPC youngers. Won't need many with all the PCs.

Ok just to screw up everything

I am posting the points spent in attributes but know names. So you can look and see where you rank and how many points are being spent. You may adjust and bid up as you wish. PM what you want to do. I will edit this message to reflect changes made. Also ties are fine, enough interaction of other stats easily breaks them.

Remember once you bid the points are spent.

Also remember there are not only PC but NPC youngers in the bidding as well. The NPC's are done bidding and will not bid up anybody.


Remember each is the most important Hardy har har . . .
