This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

An Amber-in-all-but-name Game?

The book will be what the patrons want it to be, and what Jason designs it to be, based on that input. Be patient and wait for Jason's Pitch.

You have waited 17 years a few more weeks is all I ask.

Quote from: steelmax73;372904I don't want to be a nay sayer so early on and will probably be one of the first to give money. but my main concern is that the new game will be more of a amber supplement. I am sure the fear is probably unfounded.

It will not be an Amber supplement. It will be a new game using the ADRPG rules, probably including them in summary for people who haven't played (or don't have access to a copy of) Amber Diceless Roleplaying.

Its ok the excitement level is building and the emotional investment people have in Diceless Roleplaying is understandable. I expect far crazier moments than this.

Quote from: jdurall;372734I will not be doing that, as I think it leads to pigeonholing them. Once you go "Oh... that guy is Thor", it's hard to add nuance to them. I'm hoping that any characters will draw on classic archetypes, but in the same way Zelazny did, in a more subtle fashion, though association and personality traits, playing against the obvious whenever appropriate.

I'm very glad to hear that you are not making a diceless rpg about mythology.

Jason Durall is the Lead Designer, we will talk about all he has done on monday :0

Perry Grosshans will edit, Ran the same Amber Diceless Roleplaying campaign for 10 years. He is a Winnipeg based writer, editor and game designer. His degrees in History, Classics and Anthropology are completely useless in his real-life job as General Manager of the Winnipeg International Writers Festival, but are quite useful for his gaming projects. He has done editing for Pencil Pusher Publishing and for the work League of Inspired Being (E.N. Publishing, 2006), and is currently working with Rite Publishing as the lead editor on The Rituals of Choice Adventure Path.

Jason Rainville will be our Artist. He is the Lead artist on our Coliseum Morpehueon Project and has done covers for both that project and Race for the Crystal Fold you can find his portfollio HERE

Cover layout, stationary and logo by Claudia "Darkhanna" Burgos, she did the same for Heroes of the Jade Oath, Coliseum Morpheuon and Race for the Crystal Fold.  You can check out some of her work on Deviant Art HERE

Oh and Jonathan Roberts is our cartographer. His maps have appeared in Kobold Quarterly, Open Design and for us. you can check out his stuff at HERE

I checked out some of the artists' links and they are pretty good. I hate to build up high hopes too early in a project, but I'm building up high hopes for this project! :)

I turned in a quick blurb for the proposal this morning (and will  be working out an outline before too long). We went back and forth a bit on the title, and an announcement should be coming tomorrow without a problem.
