This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Sigmund

"Well met, very much good sirs, as I am overjoyed to be in company of other living souls this night after the vision I have just witnessed. I fully support removing ourselves to another place as far from that cursed copse of trees as we can, then I can relate to you folks the story of how I have happened to be here. Until then suffice it to say that I am Alric Quintin, a sorcerer of the Charred Men of Carlaw, and now currently unemployed." Alric says as he secures the straps of his pack more tightly about himself, "It is fortuitous that I had not removed my pack and was using it to lie against for just such a possible emergency, although ghostly spirits are not what I feared to encounter to be sure."

Norel puts his bow and arrows away, and then begins to unceremoniously and hastily pack his bedroll away while Alric is speaking.

"A spirit that is reciting prayer? Perhaps this is the spirit that haunts that haunts the monastery, should we not confront it?" argues Sighard. He holds high the glass bottle of blessed water, "We are well prepared, and finding the trail was difficult".

Akrasia

Bryce eyes the newcomer suspiciously, but nods in agreement when Alric recommends fleeing from the haunted copse.

"I repeat my earlier recommendation that we proceed, with all possible haste, away from here!"

The sorcerer ensures that he has all of his equipment on his person, and makes impatient gestures indicating that the others should join him in fleeing.

"Monastery?"Alric asks with a puzzled expression, "You are seeking these spirits?"

Norel nods affirmatively toward Alric as he puts his backpack on, "yes, but I think searching the monastery in the light of day would be best.  It's wise to attack your enemy when they are at their weakest.  I admit that I don't know much about spirits, but this event confirms the rumors of activity at night that I've heard."

Addressing everyone else, "you all ready?  Good, let's move now!"

Sigmund

Alric smiles at Bryce and Norel, saying, "I look forward to learning more about you all and hope to show my gratitude for this fortuitous meeting if I can. The spirits in the wood are best confronted in the light of day I think." With that he moves through the camp towards the direction opposite the copse of trees he so recently vacated.

If I understand correctly you're relocating your camp? Where to? Remember that you're currently at the start of the path, so going further down the hill means leaving it behind. It shouldn't be too difficult to find your way back in the morning, hopefully.

Sigmund

As he waits for the group to gather their gear, Alric says, "If this is the head of a trail you were searching for, perhaps we can mark it with a strip of cloth tied to a branch so that it is easier to find upon our return. I have an empty sack that would serve for this purpose nicely I think." Alric digs his large sack out of his backpack and hands it to Sighard.

"You have my thanks Alric" says Sighard as he buts the glass of blessed water back with his belongings and ties the sack to a nearby tree, highly visible. Gathering the rest of his belongings he looks to the others "Let us be off quickly then, before this spirit looks to us".

Engeram nods to the newcomer, still pacing and staring into the woods suspiciously.

"Forgive me, this night doesn't sit well with me. I've been on edge sense our last encounter. The name is Engeram."
