This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Engeram squints his eyes and focuses for a moment, drawing up the courage to finish this -- his first ever kill. He then lunges forward and drives the spear strait for the heart.

1d100=51 That is a hit!

1d8=3, 1d4=3 Total 6.

Sorry to hear about your foot.  I hope it gets well soon. :)

Does Norel have to make a Battle Magic Casting roll to cast his Divine Heal spell, or away from the combat enough that he doesn't have to roll?

Quote from: Llum;412635Sighard steels himself and lunges are the enraged Gunnar. http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2744063/ Rolled an 18, skill is 58.

Following up his lunge his swings his kite trying to land a bashing blow on his foe. http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2744065/ Rolled an 82, skill is 33. A miss I presume.

On a side note, according to the rules I have 13.5 max HP. How do I go about rounding that? Down or up? I didn't catch a mention of it in the rules (or I completely missed it :P )

This is me up

Borvr's hand flashes out to one side to distract you as his other prepares a vicious stab with his spear. But your aim is true, and his distraction is for naught. Your spear plunges through his armour, through his ribs, into his heart.

Brave Borvr's hands drop his own spear, and clutch yours ineffectually. His eyes bulge in confusion and disbelief, but he only has time to open his mouth before he slumps forward. The weight of his body pushes your arm and weapon down, so that the butt of the spear rests on the frozen, blood-stained ground.

"Borvr!" Gunnar shouts in dismay, unable to help his friend.

"Oh God, Borvr!" shouts the young man you've just saved, his eyes welling up.

Engeram looks at the healer with a quick, regretful glance, drops the spear and takes a few steps backwards away, staring.

Turning away from the gore misted rime he walks back to retrieve his gear.

The young sorcerer brushes a lock of dark blond hair off of his sweaty brow.  Scowling in concentration, his eyes appear to become unfocused for a few seconds.  Communicating with his raven familiar, Bryce asks: "Devin, what do you see?  Anymore ruffians in the area?"

His grey eyes become aware of his immediate surroundings again.  Bryce asks the boy, "Are you okay, lad?  Not too shaken?"

"What have you gotten us involved with, boy?" Norel asks the young lad after seeing his reaction to Borvr's fall.

Soaring high in the noonday air, Devlin's keen eyes see only Gelf fleeing in a north-easterly direction, possibly towards a manor in the far distance. It will be many hours of travel over rough ground before he can reach it though. Otherwise, the land around you appears desolate.

The boy wipes his nose pitifully and looks at Bryce and Norrel. He adjusts his grip on the piglet, which is squealing and struggling.

"I'm well, sirs. I've seen men die before..."

Gunnar interrupts him with a defiant quip in accented Moragnian.

"Boy's father is chief of Wolf Hall. Mother's milk is death. Father's cruelty, maybe not bravery."

The boy's face flushes, and his voice raises.

"My father is not me! Sirs, Borvr and Gunnar and the others were sent by my father. I've... I've run away. I don't want to be a robber!"

Gunnar sneers.

"Blood is blood, Daniel." He spits red-stained saliva at the ground for emphasis.

Norel gives Gunnar a hard look and says, "while there is truth to your words, those words are not absolute."

Turning to the boy, Norel asks him compassionately, "why would you want to run away from your father and home?"

Turning to the boy, Norel asks him compassionately, "why would you want to run away from your father and home?"

"My father is Baron Robert Fitzwell of Wolf Hall, sir. He is a wicked man, God forgive me for saying so. I am old enough now that he wishes me to join him and go about murdering and robbing!" Daniel sags.

"I have seen him do terrible things, sir, and I do not wish to join him in his wicked ways."

Gunnar seems calmer on the issue. He's dabbing the blood off his face with the hem of his undertunic while still down on one knee.

"Father is rich man. Lots of silver if you bring boy back home."

Ignoring Gunnar, Bryce says to the boy: "There is no shame in abandoning the vile ways of one's father.  The Hidden God judges by deeds, not blood alone."

The sorcerer pauses for a few moments, and then asks: "Tell me, Daniel, does Wolf Hall lie to the north-east, about a day's journey?"

I will be travelling for the next few days, so I may not be able to post again until Monday.
