This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Jhan> You take 6 points of damage from Gunnar's attack.

A couple of clarifications please, boss.

When I checked to see if you had subtracted Jhan's armour from the damage he took I got slightly confused. The rolls says 4 damage, you say 6.

Do we use the Major Wound Level rule?

We're not using the Major Wounds for now to keep things simple, also because I want Norrel to keep both of his eyes and all four of his limbs for now. ;)

The roll is 4, but Stumvr and Gunnar have Weapon Enhancement 2 cast on their weapons, which gives them 2 additional points of damage per hit. That was the spell they were casting while you were all sorting things out with Borvr.

I generally say if I'm subtracting armour from the hit, but I try to avoid handling that end so I don't have to keep track of what armour everyone is wearing. Baseline assumption should be that I'm not. Sorry if that was confusing. <:)

Guess he is short as it is without missing a couple of legs. :)

I thought this was the case, but better ask than not. Thanks for the answers.

What's the plan, Jhan? You're up, then Bryce and Gelf.

Pale-faced and grunting with pain from the wound, Jhan almost retreats from the battle. However, when Gunnar turns his back on him, Jhan's sword arm seems to almost move of its own volition in a stabbing motion towarsd the enraged man. The blow is weak though.

Normal attack on Gunnar, in the back? (1d100=33)
Damage (1d6=2)

Pseudoephedrine

Gelf continues to retreat slowly, clutching his mangled hand.

Bryce?

Last round I tried to move around the melee, into a position in which I would be able to get a clean shot this round.  I'm having trouble visualizing where everyone is positioned.  My shot will be at any brigand with respect to whom I have a clean line of fire.  If there is no such brigand, I will continue to try to reposition myself for next round.

After moving into a more advantageous position, Bryce takes aim at one of the remaining brigands, and fires his crossbow.

Better luck this time -- a 38.

If that is a hit, Bryce does 5 points of damage.

At this point, everyone other than you, Norrel, Amra, and Gelf are clustered up in a big churning mass. Norrel is down on the ground unconscious a few metres away from the scrum, Amra is a few metres out looking for a good opportunity to charge, and Gelf is fleeing.

That means Jhan, Borvr, Sighard, Engeram and Gunnar are all bunched up, shoving back and forth and occasionally stabbing out. I picture them as pretty locked up at this point - plenty of close-in shoving and elbowing, scraping and stabbing at one another.

Sorry for not posting earlier -- it's been a busy weekend.

It looks like I don't have a clear shot at anyone in the melee.

While I'm tempted to use my shot on the fleeing Gelf, that seems dishonourable.  So instead I will cautiously approach Norrel and try to pull him away from the scrum.  Once we're 10+ metres away, I'll try to Heal him (by magic) back up to consciousness.  If that fails, I'll try to help him with my healing skill.

I assume that I will not be able to cast Heal until next round.

Amra sheds his shield (retains scimitar), pack and gives chase to Gelf...

Yeah, dragging Norrel out will take a turn. Borvr and Gunnar have bigger problems than you though, so they're not going to try to stop you.

Gelf is bolting.

Engeram jumps in the air and comes down hard screaming at Borvr.

1d100=12

His bravado gives Borvr time to step off line and turn the nearly perfect strike into a glancing blow.

Amra chasing Gelf as per my last post...sans pack & shield w/scimitar

Even a glancing blow is beginning to tell on Borvr. His movements are more sluggish, as strike after strike has bloodied him. His fur vest is smeared with his own blood, and each swing of his arm spatters those nearby with more.

Roll an extra d4 here for damage, C-dub. Jumping is gonna put some extra mass behind that hit.
