This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Kagan nods towards Snorri and turns his attention back to Thraim. "Sounds to me like we are here to serve as sources of entertainment for the Amber family. Do you reckon there would be any ulterior motive to their summons and hospitality?"

"So called..." he adds under his breath, to himself.

OOC: well, having some type of convention to separate dialogs from the rest of the posts is indeed something of a convention in pbp games. It makes it easier to know what we can hear and thus, react to (though body expression, looks etc may cound too).

Narf the Mouse

(Given that I still don't have a current update on my spells - The original list having lost some vital information - And given that I've never gotten a reply on the questions I've asked about it - I'm dropping)
The main problem with government is the difficulty of pressing charges against its directors.

Given a choice of two out of three M&Ms, the human brain subconsciously tries to justify the two M&Ms chosen as being superior to the M&M not chosen.

Drohem

Looking over at Snorri Thraim says, "no, go ahead and get some rest my friend.  I'll stand watch now."

Turning back to Kagan and Sander, he smiles, winks, and chuckles as he says, "only a madman would try to guess the intentions and motivations of another madman."

"Do you think you could cure Semina's blindness, either of you?  I know you are skilled in the arts of divine magic,"  Thraim says in all seriousness with a concerned tone of voice.

Kord's Boon

"I hear that indeed", Sander replies to the madman comment, he's looking significantly more calm now, if no less worried.

"Yes...blindness...injury? Magical trap of some kind? Yes I think can do something about that, I'll make things well as soon as possible." He smiles weakly, then looks around a bit "We still trying to get some rest then?"
"[We are all] victims of a system that makes men torture and imprison innocent people." - Sir Charles Chaplin

Drohem

"It was a magical attack upon her while we fought a spider and some spiderlings," Thraim says in a weary voice, "yes, get some rest.  I'll stand watch.  Another effect of the warped magic surrounding this place is that day and night blur into perpetual daylight it appears."

Venosha

Semina lays back against the wall as Snorri makes himself comfortable on her left side.  She listens as Thraim converses with Sander and Kagan about her blindness, and how they might be able to help her.  She doesn't dare wake up Naren, knowing he needs a full night sleep to memorise spells, but hopes the magic user and the clerics can restore her vision.  Semina stretches her back muscles and turns towards her left, knowing she will wake to darkness once more.

OOC: Did Narf really quit then?

The Half-Orc hesitates for a moment before suggesting: "I will stand watch with you, Thraim, if you do not mind my company. I actually feel quite rested myself."

Drohem

"Good, four eyes are better than two," Thraim says as he digs into his belt pouch.

He pulls out his whiskey flask and hands it to Kagan with a wink and says, "just a pinch to stay frosty."

Benoist

Kagan gulps the liquor and hands back the flask to Thraim without a word. It may be that Kagan was smiling a moment ago, but it is hard to judge by the twisted looks of his shameful heritage.

The 'night' passes without incident.  Everyone is certainly free to chat or interact, if they wish.  Otherwise, if everyone is amenable, we can fast forward to getting ready for the day, and start with addressing Semina's blindness the next 'morning'

Kord's Boon

Sander experiences a troubled sleep, but wakes the next 'morning' early as is his routine. He is both pleased and mildly disturbed to find his anxiety over the sudden translocation has passed.

Not wishing to disturb the others he grooms and relives himself as unobtrusively as possible, before settling down to collect they energy he will need for the day ahead. One step at a time, I have work that needs to be done.

Your rest was somewhat fitful; no nightmares, but disturbing dreams nonetheless.  As everyone wakes up and begins packing up their supplies for another foray into the mansion, the spellcasters who have need prepare their spells for the day.

After preparations are completed, Naren kneels beside Semina and puts his hand over her eyes as he begins to murmur the incantations to unravel the affliction.  Slowly, the magic begins to have its effect, and the enchantment frays at the edges and dissipates.  "As I suspected," notes the magic-user, "a continual light spell.  It would have never run down on its own, drawing power from a permanent connection to the weave of magic energy that permeates the plane."

The blank whiteness fades from Semina's vision, and sight slowly returns.  There are spots, as though having stared into the sun for a number of hours.  Shapes, movement, for the time being that is all she can see, but only time will tell if it clears up fully.

Semina blinks her eyes frantically, while trying to focus on the images that fade in and out of her line of sight.  "All I can see are shapes and movement for now," she states to no one in particular.  "Its almost like I stared at the sun for to long."  Frustrated by her impairment still, Semina tries to focus on the figures around her to see if she can make out Kagan, and Sanders silhouettes.

Thraim watches Naren do his work on Semina, as he has always been fascinated by the mysteries of the Arcane Art.  He lets out a low sigh as Naren says that he has severed the magic which has blinded Semina and that her sight will return fully in time.

"Good work Naren," Thraim says genuinely.
