This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

#450
After a bit of hemming and hawing, Jean-Louis looks up at the other two magen, points at his fallen boxer and snaps his fingers.  They proceed to drag it out of the ring, hook their arms under it's shoulders, and unceremoniously drag it behind Jean-Louis as he makes his way to the door in the eastern part of the room.

"Farewell, my friends, I hope you enjoy the...  shall we say, 'hospitality' of my family home.  Perhaps we shall meet again, but I do not find that likely."  With a low bow and a sweep of his cape, he turns on his heel and begins walking to the door, his two guards hauling the unmoving form of the boxer between them.

Thraim is back up to 19hp

Semina stop looking up at the ceiling as Jean-Louis begins to gather his fighter with his other guards.  She watches as the other magens pick up the their fallen brother and proceed towards the eastern door.  Overhearing him bid their party fair well, she looks to her companions for any signs or following.

The dwarf and cleric are still in a healing process, as druid looks to be standing guard at their first entrance.  'Family home, hospitality?' the words run through her head, as she finds herself walking at a fast pace toward Jean-Louis.

"My lord," she shouts before  Jean-Louis completely disappears.  "May I have a few more moments of your time before we venture around your estate?"  Semina gives her best smile and motions her hands in a friendly gesture so she doesn't come off as threatening to his guards.  'I may look friendly, but my hands are quick to find their weapons,' she thinks to herself as her smile begins to turn devilish.

"My lord," Semina shouts before  Jean-Louis completely disappears.  "May I have a few more moments of your time before we venture around your estate?"

"Of course, my dear, but my time is terribly precious.  These brutes don't whip themselves out of thin air, and I will need to devise a whole new training regimen for this one."  he says with a hint of impatience, but seems willing to assist, for the moment.

I got a PM from Venosha, she's been sick the last few days, but is feeling better, so we should be able to pick things up in a day or two.

Drohem:  Can you let them know over on the Invisible Tower thread, too?  Thanks.

Semina frames her questions quickly since Jean-Louis seems to be in a bit of a hurry.  "Can you tell us why we were brought here or kidnapped, and how we can get out again?" she asks simply.  "Also my lord," she pauses, "what hospitality should we be expecting?"

OOC: Sorry guys...I've been really sick, and I am still fighting it.  Please continue until I can come back fully.

"Can you tell us why we were brought here or kidnapped, and how we can get out again?" Semina asks simply.  "Also my lord, what hospitality should we be expecting?"

"I am not sure what you mean by 'kidnapped' my dear," Jean-Louis begins, "the D'Ambervilles have no agents who are working in that regard.  I had imagined your purposes for visiting our family home were yours alone.  We get visitors on occasion, but hardly as many as before 'the move'.  Ahhh...  we were well respected in the old days.  Noblesse Oblige had real meaning back then, not just a generous sprinkling of gold in the market square.  Of course, largesse was a part of it, to be sure..."  He trails off to his thoughts for a moment, as though lost in a dream.

"At any rate," he continues after mildly shaking his head, "our hospitality has not lessened over the years."  He gestures around him, in almost a sense of wonder, "Within these walls, you will find reward and consequence in equal measure.  Perhaps, you may even find our Prince Stephen.  He may be able to tell you how to return to where you wish, if the front door is not convenient enough."  he concludes with a chuckle.

Heathcliffe works up an awkward smile.

"Now you are only making yourself look foolish, you fop.  You know the meaning of the word kidnapped.  We were forcibly brought here against our will.  We were kidnapped," Thraim with growing ire.

"Front door convenient enough?!" Thraim spits with obvious anger, "Perhaps we should step into the ring, and I'll will wipe that chuckle off your face?  Or I could do it here and now?"

"Then you may find our manor less than welcoming, Master Dwarf.  In any case, I do have things to attend to, and I really must be going."  With that, he motions to his guards and continues toward the door.  He calls out over his shoulder, "I wish you all well, but I fear you will find more consequence than reward."

Semina steps aside for a moment while Thraim threatens Jean-Louis.  She doesn't want retaliation for the dwarf's anger, but she positions her hand upon her belt close to her hand axe, waiting for any sudden movement.

She listens as Jean-Louis disarms Thraim with bidding the group farewell, and smiles at the thought of having more consequences than rewards.  'This ought to be interesting,' she remarks to herself.

"Where shall we start?" she addresses everyone.

"Yes, all should be worried about the consequences of their actions, Master Dandy," Thraim says to his back.

Reaching the door, Jean-Louis opens it so his guards can drag the fallen boxer through, turns to you with a warm smile and waves a hearty farewell before closing the door behind him.

hehehehe, Thraim thought to himself, the next time we meet, Jean-Louis, we shall just see who is smiling and who is not.
