Seeing his foe stagger, Thraim keeps the pressure up with a series of furious blows.

Thraim hit AC 4 for 4 damage.

Pushed back towards the corner, the magen takes a wide swing, and follows up with a jab to the stomach.

  2nd Round, 5th Exchange
Attack = 13
   Damage = 4

Thraim is down to 17hp

Semina cringes at the last jab Thraim took to the stomach.  Turning to Sander, "I may need help taping up his injuries, depending on his mood," she remarks.

Sensing that the round is almost over, Thraim launches into a series a quick jabs and feints and finishes up with a left hook to the temple.

Round 2 (6th exchange)
Thraim hit AC -1 for 6 damage.

The swing connects solidly, snapping the magen's head around, and his body follows.  Reeling against the ropes, it falls to the mat and remains motionless.

"Excellent, Master Dwarf!" shouts Jean-Louis, "you both did better than I could have hoped!  Certainly, I could have learned more over the course of the entire match, but no matter!  You have bested my champion in a fair fight, and I will add 100 pieces of gold to the purse."

Pulling an ornate key from his jacket, Jean-Louis stoops on the side of his chair away from you, inserts it into a slot in the floor, and giving a brisk turn opens a small iron latch.  Spending a minute or so rummaging, he snaps the door shut and locks it again.

"As promised, your winnings total 308 gold." He hands a clinking pouch to you, and steps back, preparing to carry on with his business.  "Of course, how you dispense that among yourselves is your business.  Now, I will need to tend to my magen, and see what I can do to improve his skills.  Thank you again, I will take my leave of you."

Bowing with a flourish of his wide hat, he turns on his heel and snaps at the two armoured magen, who promptly move to his side while he examines the inert figure in the ring.

Thraim walks back over to his corner, and picks up the sweat rag.  Wiping himself off, he watches Jean-Louis closely.  

Breathing heavily, Thraim flashes a wide smile at his companions and says, "here's  your winnings!"

Once everyone is close enough, he will continue, "what do you think we should do here?  Take him by force and interrogate him?  He's dodged any of our attempts to speak of anything else other than this stupid boxing match."

Naren slaps himself on the forehead.

"We could have bet information."

Thraim looks at Naren, smiles, and says, "don't kick yourself too hard my friend.  I doubt old Jean-Louis would've made such a wager.  I have a feeling that he'd pointedly try to avoid any discussion not related to his construct, or it performance.  I think that he hears the blacksmith's hammer ringing in his head all the time."

Semina continues to study Jean-Louis as he investigates his beaten fighter.  "Now that you have knocked out his warrior, Jean-Louis might be more open to conversation," Semina speaks to Thraim.  "Even though one  is down there are two other just like him armed, plus the red floating eyes."

Walking around her companions, Semina jingles some of the winnings in her hand.  "Maybe we could use the winnings to coax the information instead ."

While putting his clothes back on, Thraim says, "well, I'm in no condition to be charming at the moment."

Thraim motions to his sweaty and flushed condition, not to mention trying to come down off a primal adrenaline rush just a moment ago.

Looking at Semina, he says, "perhaps you, or someone else, could speak with him?"

"Please allow me to heal your wounds, Thraim." Sander moves closer to the dwarf so that me may perform the necessary spell.

"Sure, I'd be most grateful Sander," Thraim says with a smile.

Heathcliffe waits by the door impatiently, figuring that the man would use such information to arrange another wasteful boxing match.

Semina stands back to look her companions over.  This place intrigues her more and more, but could care less if they interrogated Jean-Louis or went on their merry way.  " The rest of you make a decision," she glances at the ceiling "I'll just follow."

Sander lays his hand on Thraim's wound and meditates for a moment. As he does so, swelling stops and pain subsides.
