This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I think we can do this by individual exchanges in each round, rather than pile up a whole series of attacks.  Especially with the chances for knockout if the match goes long enough, dumping a whole sequence of attacks only confuses matters.  The first round isn't really a problem, but subsequent rounds can be handled one attack at a time.

Round 1
     Attack = 9 Damage = 4
     Attack = 9 Damage = 3
     Attack = 20 Damage = 1
     Attack = 18 Damage = 2
     Attack = 10 Damage = 2
     Attack = 19 Damage = 2

5 points total damage, putting Thraim down to 26hp

Thraim is surprised at how deftly the combatant ducks and weaves, but manages to get in a few solid blows.  In return, the magen slips several punches in through Thraim's defenses, bruising his ego a bit, but not presenting any real danger yet.

"Very good!" exclaims Jean-Louis enthusiastically.  "As promised, you have survived the first round, so I will add a gold sovereign to the pot!  Each consecutive round, I will increase my contribution, assuming you are able to last the round!"  Smiling broadly, he returns to his seat until the next round begins.

Semina stands on the edge of insanity as the two exchange blow after blow.  She grips the ropes tight when Thraim jabs the brute, and grits her teeth when he breaks through the dwarfs defences.  Even though she tries to keep her eye on the fight, she slyly watches the other patrons as the match heats up between the competitors, wanting to make sure no surprises come up as the others are distracted.

The first round is over and Semina awaits the dwarf to see if he needs help with any cuts or water.  She  looks over to the brutes corner and glimpses at the fighter as he assumes his stance.  Semina over hears Jean-Louis as he increases the pot by one gold piece, and offers more if Thraim can survive.  She has complete faith in the dwarf, and hopes his inner fight is being appeased.

"Thraim," she speaks loudly. "Are you in need of anything?"

Thraim pointedly ignores Jean-Louis and focuses on his strategy while letting Semina assist him.

"No, I'm fine," Thraim says with heavy breath, "let's see if this thing can think on its feet.  It's just as I thought, being a lefty wasn't a help against this opponent.  I'm going to try and trick into thinking that I'm losing steam, and let's see what it will do."

Thraim enters the second round immediately upon the bell being struck.  He strategy for this round is to attempt to trick his opponent into thinking that he's winded.  He wants to see if his opponent will act upon this rouse.  Thraim is certainly not winded currently.  Dwarves were crafted from the bones of the earth by Moradin the Soulforger.  Their gift is their enduring health and constitution.

The magen ducks around Thraim's blow and throws a counter-punches into his side.

Round 2, first exchange
Attack = 13
   Damage = 3

Thraim is down to 23hp

Jean-Louis watches the match progress with a gleam in his eye.  Leaning in after the last few punches, he mentions to the party "If you need to call off the match at any point, let me know.  'Throw in the towel' as it were.  It won't be necessary for the magen, of course, but I wanted to make sure you were aware the option is available for your dwarf"

The boxing match overwhelms Semina's senses as she notices the fighter leaving himself wide open to dwarf.  She shakes the ropes with excitement as she glances over to Jean-Louis, watching him keep score of the rounds.  'What I would give to be in that ring,' she whispers to herself.  "This match is making me home sick," she remarks to Sander.

Memories begin to dance in her head of when her masters use to taunt her during training.  As the fights begin to replay,  phantom pains and cracks surge through her body.  Even when she loss,a lesson was learned.  'I should have made the dwarf flip a coin for the fight,' she smirks as she comes back to the present.
