Title: [Offsite] The Borderlands: Labyrinth Lord PbP game
Post by: danhem on March 16, 2010, 04:57:40 PM
You and your companions have arrived at the border fortress of the Baron Nordham from small towns and villages from around the kingdom.  You have been lured by rumors of great wealth to be had by those with the strength to take it.  Nobles and merchants are looking for mercenaries to protect their lives and property from evil creatures as well as each other.  Tales abound of ancient ruins lying just beyond the border that are filled with treasure, lost magic and undead horrors.  The king’s heralds announce the location of monster infested caverns that serve as strongholds for all manner of beasts that plunder and pillage the settlements of men.  Generous bounties have been placed upon the heads of these enemies of the kingdom. Perhaps you will be able to make a name for yourself in these savage lands and return to your humble villages as heroes; or maybe you will be just another would-be treasure hunter that vanishes beyond the borders of the lands of men.

This game will use the Labyrinth Lord (http://www.goblinoidgames.com) rules or the B/X DnD rules.  I will make use of published as well as original material.  Be warned, however, that published material will be significantly modified from the original.  This will be a sandbox style game, although there will be a starting adventure to get things going.  After that there will be plenty of directions for the party to go and explore.  I’m looking for 4-6 players with a good distribution of character classes.  All characters will start at first level.  Players of all gaming experience are welcome.  Newcomers are especially encouraged to join.  I am looking for players that will post regularly, at a minimum of once every other day.

This game is already in progress and the players have completed their first mission for the Keep. Player attrition, however, has brought the party down to just three regular members. We currently have a fighter, an elf and a cleric. New players can either create their own new character or take over a pre-existing characters with their accumulated experience and treasure (a thief, magic user, or elf).
