This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Now across the bridge, the party continues following the winding path through the mountainous terrain.  The path ends at the entrance to a cave in the mountainside.  A single feather lies on the ground just inside the cave.

"I guess we should enter and follow. Any one have a flashlight? If not lets look around for something we can use as a torch."

Sabrina pulls a compact with a lighted mirror out of her purse.  Will this do?

Brumbar

"anyone else? Lets see if we can find something to make torches with"

James steps into the cave and goes over to the feather, picking it up. He idly wonders what type of bird it came from as he walks back out into the sunlight to get a better look. He then glances up at the sky again for Owen. (What colour is the feather? If Owen is not visible, could it be one of his?)

Lost in his own thoughts, he is not really paying much attention to Nick. Besides, James certainly doesn't have a flashlight on him, what is he, a boy scout? He may have a lighter though. :D

The feather James picks up looks like it could have come from Owen based on size and color.

As the other three members of the party look around for materials to make torches they see an Arabic looking man with a neatly trimmed beard sitting on the ground about 60 yards away.  He does not seem to have noticed you and appears to be eating a loaf of bread.

The torch search also turns up what looks like a partial human skeleton sticking out from under a rock next to the cave entrance.  The leg bones could be used in making a torch but you'd still need something to burn and something to start the fire.

If James so desires he may have a lighter on him. :)

Does the arabic looking man look at all familiar to any of us?

Brumbar

Can we budge the rock to expose more of the skeleton?

wulfgar

The arab does not look familiar to any of you.  You can't make out great detail from this far, but he looks to be wearing a fairly simple outfit- loose fitting pants, shirt, vest, and slippers that would be as common on the streets of Arabia in the 20th century as it was a millenium ago.  He is cutting his bread with a small knife.

You try working together to move the rock over the skeleton but are unsuccesful.  It's too heavy.  The bones appear to have been there for quite awhile.

"Cool!" James exclaims when he is shown the skeleton. "Who do you think he was? How long has he been there? Why did he die? Did the rock kill him, or did it fall on him later?", he asks in rapid-fire, not awaiting any responses. James will take a toe-bone (or preferably a tooth if one is visible) as a souvenier. So engrossed is he that he has not yet seen the Arab.

"Oh yeah, I found this feather too.  Looks like Owen went into the cave," he says to the others. "And, I got a lighter here once you guys figure out how to make a torch."

IS THERE ANY BRUSH OR ROOTS EXPOSED THAE WE CAN WRAP AROUND THE BONE AND LIGHT ON FIRE?

John looks at the bones with as professional an eye as he can. (Hey, as pre-med, I'm the closest thing to a coroner we've got). Does the victim appear to have died because of the rocks falling?

(If I can't tell, that's okay. But it seems callous to just use the guy's bones and not take any interest in him as a person.)

wulfgar

Nick finds a large dried up chunk of moss on one of the rocks that could be used with a bone to make a torch.

John looks at the bones and sees a few small fragments scattered around the boulder.  It appears that the boulder was dropped on the person- whether it was what killed him or it fell on the body later he can't ascertain.  There are a few different sets of teeth marks on the bones.  Some small ones that look like they came from a rat or similar animal, as well as some larger ones that you can't identify.

Brumbar

Nick wraps the moss around the bone and borrows James lighter to light it and begins to enter the cave.

James pockets his 'souvenier' bone, the feather, and his lighter. He then follows close on Nick's heels, peering eagerly into the darkness. "This is so cool! I hope we find more bodies!", he says.
