This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Cool, I see no need to role play out the whole purchase either, you noted in post and updated your sheet so that's all that matters.

Drohem

OK, Donovan is ready to leave in the morning now. :)

pbj44

Me too! Any kind of crude hunters map of the area?

Arkansan

Hmm I could drum up a map if needed, but Aiden will know the way.

Chugosh

Cool for me, too.
We may resume the story midday in the journey tomorrow if you like, even.

Here's some "fired up" inspiration:

Egads!  I hope that we don't encounter Mind Flayers at 1st level, LOL! :)

The last image is awesome sauce!

Baltron's Beacon does bring back some good memories!

LOL! Perhaps the Mind Flayer King will be your Boss nemesis within the temple ruins! No worries, I have your back!:cheerleader:

Baltron's Beacon brings back fond memories for me as well. I last ran it about 10 years ago and always enjoyed the sneak factor in approaching the fortress.

Arkansan

Sorry for the late update guys, I have been a bit under the weather today.

pbj44

No worries and hope you feel better! As Chugosh said, you can just fling us as close as you want to the Halls.

How are we handling rolls gentlemen? We can use the rollz site linked earlier but rooms made in it only seem to stay open for a certain period of time.  I would also be fine using the honor system, as I trust everyone here to play fair. Although I think we should note any rolls made in post. Suggestions, thoughts?

AndrewSFTSN

Yep, see my thoughts in the cheating thread about that.  Honour system is fine by me, I think the important thing is noting the roll (and modifiers) in the post, perhaps in a different font colour.  I'll probably be using rollz anyway as I often play at work (sshhhh).

I'll be using the website for my rolls.  It doesn't matter to how anyone else makes their rolls.  :)

In the past I have happily used https://dicelog.com/dice. It has a neat feature where you can make your roll and the results are instantly emailed to prevent any "fudging". Using this system we could make our rolls which would be transmitted with time stamp to any email address you decide. You would get an email like this:

Dice Roll Information:
----------------------

My bow shot at the Orc on the wall.

Dice Results:
-------------

Result of the throw of dice "1d20" :

8

We then enter our roll in-game for everyone's enjoyment and are good to go. Since the public and private results would match then there are no issues.

Another alternative is for each of the players to send you a "sheet" of "to hit" rolls and a sheet of "damage" rolls, say, 40 results per sheet. As you use the rolls just scratch them off. This keeps more of a story flow to our game log, so instead of:

"You hit the Orc for 5 points. He's still up though."

You can have:

"Your strike rips most of the Orc's face off, but somehow he twists off your blade and lunges for you again!"

Setting up an account is child's play and validation takes about 10 seconds. I have used the service for about 8 years with zero problems. Just my freely disregarded thought. I will go with the crowd.

That dice log site seems very cool, however I think we will just stick with the honor system if everyone is cool with it. As to posting roll results I was thinking that whenever an action is taken that requires a roll after the the action you could put the roll in brackets. For instance

I attack the orc (8).

Or something like that anyway.

Oh and if its ok I figured I would make initiative and surprise rolls for both sides.
