This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Off topic, I'm feeling slightly inspired by the idea of Legacies from here for my own system - i.e. advantages/disadvantages that cost or gain attribute points...have to post something in the Development subforum when its a bit more fleshed out.

I feel they that as they are written they are too powerful for the effect. Rask got hit badly by loosing a dex (although the rakasta racial +2 dex is already v tough but that is an aside) but I coudl see a drop from 14 to 13 being trivial and the healing power is akin to a laying hands.

They're very variable because of the way bonuses work in 2E, and since it could affect a stat you don't care about so much.
As I was telling Drohem in PM I was sort of relieved I only got Int drained, just in case Duncan rolled something that reduced Wisdom below the 15 needed for psionicist and suddenly lost all his psi powers or something.... :)

I was only really stealing the idea of using stat loss or gain, tied to particular stats, to buy advantages/disadvantages, so you could trade some Wisdom to be Lucky, or Berserker (/Insane) in exchange for losing some Wisdom. Or the other way you could get Charisma by having a Distinctive Appearance or significant personality quirk. I think it could give some customization without having a whole feat system type thing. Probably nothing as powerful as legacies there.

Well, unfortunately, things have taken a grim turn inside the common room.  However, Rask is not dead yet! :)

Sigmund:  Does Finnur do anything special upon reaching the cover of the barn with the others?

Nope. He's out of magic and super crappy in a fight, so he's just trying to stay out of the way.

OK, it looks like the group is going to be split into two groups for a while as a result of the events in the common room of La Taberna de Rosa Dulce. :)
I am going to create a thread for Finnur and Duncan, and then a separate thread for Rask and Dulce.

Bloody Stupid Johnson

Damn players! :)
Sorry, just figured that since he didn't really know the others, that Duncan would've followed the Inheritor, who intervened on his behalf and saved him. Hope this turn of events isn't too annoying.

Naw, dude, it's totally cool how it panned out!  This is how RPG stories are created. :)

Totally.

We play our characters you play the world and the story happens where the two intersect.

Rask would have taken all of them if it wasn't for that explosion though :)

Plus a critical hit. Not his day.

Seems pretty quiet lately - I hope Drohem hasn't deserted us... ?
