This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quobbles mutters through his own rag.

"It's a good idea, but there's always the chance it's a creature or spirit of flame, in which case waiting will only get us smothered.  Someone else take this hobgoblin and I'll scout ahead.  I won't be spotted in this miasma."

Ari grunts an affirmative and pulls the Hobgoblin over to him, "Just keep your trap shut!", he hisses.

Quobbles creeps off into the smoke, spear at the ready.

As you move further into the corridor the smoke grows thicker. However you can begin to see the outline of several figures in a large room at the end of the hallway, the smoke seems to be coming from some sort of pyre. You can hear an agitated conversation over the crackling of wood and the roar of the fire.

Quobbles creeps closer, crawling on his belly if necessary, until he can make out some of the words of the conversation.

OOC:

Sorry for the delay guys the last few days we have been expecting a baby and things have been nuts getting ready for him. My son was born this morning at 6 so give me another day or so to get home from the hospital and set up and then I will get this moving again.

Drohem

Lying on the floor with a damp rag over his mouth, Father Donovan Nevalaps waits anxiously with Charlie, Brogar, Aiden, Ari, and their captive hobgoblin while Quobbles scouts ahead under the thick waves of black smoke that are billowing over their heads in corridor.

He quietly readies his mace and shield as he silently offers a prayer to Ouro, give us the strength to restore order to this forsaken place and bring the humanoids and Black Circle cultists to justice!

pbj44

Ari glances nervously back at Father Donovan, "Whats taking so long???"

He then shakes the Hobgoblin and hisses, "Shut up that whimpering!!"

pbj44

Sweating, Ari glances at Brogar, "Can you see anything?"

As Quobbles creeps closer he can begin to make out snatches of conversation. An arugment, gruff voices and softer ones, someone berating the gruff sounding figures for building the fire too large. Some of the figures may be hobgoblins by the shape of them, the others appear to be robed. You can't be sure but the smoke smells different as you get closer, almost putrid.

Ooc: sorry for the massive delay guys, I am back this time, ended up changing jobs, losing my internet connection due to my landlord being a jerk, and a few personal emergencies on top of that but things are settled for the moment.

pbj44

Ari waits impatiently for Quobbles return.

Ooc: Good to have you back!

AndrewSFTSN

Quobbles creeps ever closer to the fire.

If it looks obviously built too large, and unstable, he will attempt to put the butt of his spear against the end of a load-bearing flaming log, and shove, fleeing as quietly as possible in the chaos as it starts to topple.

If it looks fairly stable, he will simply return to the group and report his findings.

The pyre seems to be rather shoddily constructed and while not minuscule not exactly average size either. With a bit of effort it might in fact be made to go tumbling.
