This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quobbles mutters:  "Not too cosy.  Some burning pine sap would homely this pit up a notch.  What do you see ahead, tough guys?"

Ari grunts, "Just stairs and darkness. Demons could be making faces all around us and we'd never know it!"

pbj44

Ari slows down and listens for a moment...

pbj44

Ari listens more carefully, shushing those around him to silence...

Arkansan

You can faintly hear some thing that sounds as like an echoed scratching or the tramp of booted feet, perhaps both? It is very distant and quite faint.

pbj44

Ari whispers a warning to the others about what he heard and then continues on down the stairs as quietly as he can.

It is never the furious flurry of blows, nor the smell, nor even the falling of trusted friends.  No the hard part of the fighter's life was the tense moments when a fight was just about to break out.  Brogar wondered how many wars had started just because one side or the other could simply no longer bear the tension.  He followed close behind Ari, his nerves already keying up for battle.

He heard the others behind the two fighters, following as quietly as their armor would allow.

pbj44

Ari quietly passes the torch back to the last rank, trading some vision for a much sneakier approach.

Arkansan

As you approach the mid way point down, you see a light flicker to life at the top of the stairwell. It looks to be torch light and is moving your way.

OOC: That would be your cue Ricewind. We are in the dungeon proper now gents, good luck!

pbj44

Ari whispers a warning to the others, and crouches, ready for trouble.

AndrewSFTSN

Quobbles hands Ari's torch to Aiden, readies his spear for melee, and whispers:

"Take this lad.  And be ready!"

Moving his sword to his off-hand, Ari draws his dagger and is ready to hurl it.

OOC: Sorry guys, had to read up the thread to know where the heck I was, so to speak :D. Also - do I hear any hushed whispers etc. etc. from downstairs?

As the light slowly starts to descend down the stairs, it shines on a short, hooded, wiry figure dressed up from head to toe in darkened by coal leather armour, light shining off it's studs. The man seems to carry a crowbar in his other hand, a sword hanging from his belt. He stands before each couple of steps to crouch and carefully examine the steps in front of him, before continuing his way down. In all other words, he does not appear to be much of a guard, unless guards here took to carrying thieves' outfits.
Furthermore, I consider that  This is Why We Don\'t Like You thread should be closed

Brogar chooses to speak aloud to the newcomer, his spear raised for a quick throw.  "Be you a brother of the cult, sir?"

AndrewSFTSN

"Aye, is it "blood magic" you favour, or are you a proper adventurer?"
