This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: Drohem;751401Alexsandr shakes his head negatively as he says, "well, I have set up a meeting to get the royalties owed to Dr. Nadir.  I will ask for the original prototype back in the meeting.  Other than those two items of business for Dr. Nadir, I am not sure what else we should be doing here."

He shrugs as he continues, "if continue doing any more serious investigations into NME's business we may cross the line legally, and we may cross NME's Security which is capable."

"Well, unless the good doctor goes, I'll be needed to make sure they send us back the right prototype. As for the royalties, maybe Dr. Nadir will lend us some staff good with legalities and charm." Jolene looks tired, as the news of her world's Catch 22 is settling in uncomfortably.

"Outside of returning here for the date with the "farm boys," I can't figure out what all else we must do. If I do sell the battery prototype to small farmers at distant domes, they'll need to bootleg their own micro-generation, which for the most part is technically illegal per NME contracts with Qetesh. That said a battery is not power generation, so how much they can trace it back to us..." With a shrug she trails off the commercial thought.

You know, people keep comparing non-TSR D&D to deck-building in Magic: the Gathering. But maybe it\'s more like Katamari Damacy. You keep sticking shit on your characters until they are big enough to be a star.

Mr. Kent

Dolly appears from the backroom to turn of her blinking holographic "We're Open!" sign and lock the front door. She doesn't rush you to hurry, though, nodding gently and disappearing back into the kitchen to tidy up.

(OOC: Looks like we're ready to go ahead to the morning meeting, but first! What are the group's intentions for the night? Drive back to Base for a few ZZZs and come back in the morning? I believe you have the oxygen for it. You could find a room in Q-Town for the night, for a few credits.)

(Either way, I'll have Denny meet you in the morning!)

Back to base is my vote. I'd like to report our findings to the boss unless the party objects.

Opaopajr

OOC: Well my flapjacks and gravy bits should be rested plenty. I vote for a return to base, confer with Dr. Nadir and staff, and a change of clothes for tomorrow night.

OOC:  Alright, let's head back to base and get some good sleep in our own beds and return in the morning.

You drive the pickup truck through the star-lit wastes, Qetesh's bright yellow moon, Qurash, floating high above. As you leave the glimmering lights of Q-Town behind, you see the blinking of construction equipment off in the distance, likely a new farm dome going up. As you pull up to Perimeter Base's garage you see the Agency's trusty Ship parked in place.

Once inside, you find Spanner in the common area speaking with another unfamiliar man. The vsitor is young, but older than both Spanner and Blinov. Though he has blue eyes and brown hair, he seems to be of some Asian descent as well.

Dr. Nadir rolls up in a medtech-equipped wheelchair. Dr. Ling is nowhere in sight, presumably studying or sleeping in her quarters. Nadir smiles weakly, glad to see the Agents home.

"Ah, welcome back. How did your day in the city go?" he wheezes, having a particularly hard time finishing his sentence. "This is Denny Plowman," he announces with a gentle gesture, pointing to the stranger. "Our newly-trained agent from…well, he currently resides over in Jessup. I thought his mechanical skills would be of great use in your endeavors, so I called him in. Make him feel as if he is at home, because as of tihis moment, he is." (Blinov, you immediately notice his D3AD4OG shirt.)

"Did you locate Iijima? She give you a hard time?"

(OOC: You now each have 2 hours of oxygen left in your main 02 tanks, with the 3 3hr minitanks remaining. You'll use 2 hrs to get back to town in the morn.)

"I like the shirt," says Blinov with an approving nod at Denny. "You going to the concert?"

Drohem

Alexsandr reports to Dr. Nadir, "Spanner and I observed Iijima leaving the NME warehouse at the spaceport and followed her into the Golden Orb.  I approached her socially and spoke with her at length.  I brought the owed royalties for the last month and set up a meeting today to speak about the accounting error.  It went well.  It appears that NME is working on something big in an underground complex beneath the spaceport."

Nadir wrinkles his nose. "Underground? Huh. Well, they're always up to something. Just be cautious when dealing with them..."

"What's the news from town? Any potential clients for selling the x-cell? While you were out I got some job offers over QNet, but they seem rather mundane, not really in our wheelhouse. There's a qweevil infestation on a farm outside Q-Town, for example. Since when do we play exterminator?" he mutters grumpily. He grows crankier by the second.

"And a missing persons case. If the cops can't find this guy, what makes these people think we can?"

Alexsandr says thoughtfully, "perhaps they don't really want the authorities finding him.  What information do you have about this job?"

Heak yes, i just hope there are tickets left..I have'nt gotten mine yet been to busy....

(Denny looks everyone over, making his first impressions, tends to be overjudgemental and a little shy..)

So what are you guys working on?

"As for NME news, Alexsandr spilled what beans there were left in the can. Still obliged tomorrow to make nice with two country boys from Acherai. I'll need to wrangle a man or two from here, just to keep those extra NME guards honest in case they get the wrong idea."

"As for X Cell customers, well I met an old childhood friend who moved out to Jessup back when I was taller than the boys, and if he's like other small farmers there's definitely an energy need out there." A seriousness then settles on Jolene, "But what this battery can store for their farming needs, the laws on micro-generation favor NME's global monopoly and industrial level power generation. Like pigs in a poke, they and the financiers of Clio got this world under their control."

"If my friend's struggle in Jessup is anything like other domes, there's a real market out there. Could make a profit before a farmer riot, I guess, but there'll be real danger if NME looks at us in a dim light. A battery is not generation, so we'll be skirting the hem line."

"As for the qweevil extermination, I wouldn't mind taking a look. Not that I know much about biology, but if it's a real threat it could devastate my poor planet's economy. But I guess that's a bit like a mother of me, not big sighted like a world-hoppin cosmopolitan."

"Oh, they're out there for the getting," says Blinov. "The price is the thing. Hope you've been saving your bit-pennies."

He turns to Jo-jo. "I'll back you up tomorrow."

Mr. Kent

Nadir rolls his chair over to Aleksandr. "Manny Basanos is his name, sort of a local firebrand. On QNet you can find vids of him speaking up for farm workers' rights. His wife says he went missing five days ago, and the police are no help."

He sighs sympathetically, but gives you a stern look. "I met Basanos a long time ago. Sold him some rare tech, but I didn't keep in touch. Hell, I didn't even know he got married until Mrs. Basanos contacted me."

Nadir looks to Jolene. "The Amity Family Farm is about halfway between us and Q-Town. Not too far off the path, anyway--doubt it would make a dent in your 02 supply. The qweevils are burrowing up from the caves, getting into the tents and eating thecrops. Qweevils take special care to exterminate, else they return in greater numbers..."
