This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Watt: Slides over to the door on the right, to check it (i.e., listen, see if it's locked), all the while watching the statue.

Glum: Approaches the statue, clearly fascinated by hanging grimoire. He will climb up to retrieve it and read it if he can.

Blessed:After Blessed hurriedly dresses in one of the new suites of Scale armor, he moves into the new room and goes to the door on the left to check it (i.e., listen, see if it's locked).

Rapa: Enters the room and moves over to the wall, near the door just entered.

"Does someone else want a suit of this scale armor? Anyone else want one of these bronze spears? Speak now, or hold yer peace," Arik says.

pbj44

Yep, Blessed had snagged one of the armor suits and a spear. Now I'm good.

Tommy Brownell

Ghalidir moves closer to the statue, hoping to see if there's anything he can learn from it.

Bahib moves quickly to armor up in one of the Scale suits, while Seville decides a spear would be muuuuuch better than a razor in combat.

Blandon and Mert examine the two doors that Watt isn't covering yet.

Dominic says, "you two can wear the armor, it's too tight for me."

Arik and Rahab don the scale armor from the statues.

Arik and Dominic wield bronze spears now. Rahab holds a couple of Thurl's candles and stands behind them.

They move cautiously into the next room with the others, slowly walking up to take a closer look at the large statue.

Weru

Glum climbs on the statue, he can't see much of interest, but when Watt moves to the door on East the whole statue spins around on its base until the pointing finger of the statue is 'aimed' at Watt. When Blessed moves to the West door, the statue spins to point at him, until Mert and Blandon reach the Northern door at which point it spins round to point at them.

Nothing can be heard from the East or West door, but from the North Mert can hear strange shuffling and low splashing noises. The doors have handles but no locks.

Bahib notices there are scorch marks on the marble floor. Especially near the doors.

Watt: Tests the eastern door to see if it's locked, and then takes a peek if it is not, glad that the statue is no longer pointing at him.

Blessed:Tests the western door to see if it's locked, and then takes a peek if it is not. He is not focused at all on the statue and is oblivious to it's movement.

Glum: Shaking from the statue's movement, he carefully climbs back down the statue and then positions himself so as to be able to provide quick support at any of the doors as needed.

Rapa: Creeps up and crouches at the base of the statue, using it for cover.

When the statue begins to move, Dominic shrieks and runs back out of the room, back into the first room with the four statues. Arik, Thurl, and Rahab scatter to the southeast (A&T) and southwest (R) corners...

Tommy Brownell

Bahib shouts out "Back away from the doors!"

Then he examines the moving statue closely...especially the eyes.

Startled, both Watt and Blessed move back to the base of the statue, looking all about.

Glum: Weapon out, eyes sweeping the room.

Rapa: keeps hiding at the statue's base.

Weru

As the statue is thirty foot tall it's hard for Bahib to get a good look. However, as far as he can tell, other than being exceptionally well carved, there is nothing special about the eyes of the statue or, other than its movement, the statue itself.

Tommy Brownell

Mert mutters "There's something moving beyond this door." Blandon steels himself to push through the door.

Bahib yells at Glum. "Hey, while you're up there, take a good look at that hand."

Ghalidir muses aloud..."Do you suppose we could push through multiple doors at once and throw it off?"

"Is there something in here we could jam it up with?" Arik asks out loud. "Perhaps one of the statues from the other room? We need something to wedge it so it can't move around. Whatever it is, it's following us as we get near the doors... I don't like it."

He walks back to the previous room to see if he and Dominic can push one of the statues over.

Weru

Arik makes for the door, but the statue swivels with a deep bass groaning sound. A jet of flame leaps from the statue's pointing finger and engulfs Arik. He falls to the floor still burning, but not moving. The smell of burnt clothes, hair, and flesh fouls the room.

pbj44

Blessed: "GREAT GORHAN SAVE US!!!!!!" He starts towards Arik, and then freezes, eyes darting fearfully to the statue...

Rapa and Watt hold still, not sure what is setting this whole thing off.

Glum: Furious, Glum stalks over to Blandon, and asks "Can I borrow your hammer brother?"

He nods at the statue's arm - "Oil, marble, spark, and pressure plates are the murderers in this room! I'm going to fix that monster's finger with this hammer brother. Maybe the rest of you can keep an eye out, or search for a secret way out of here. Even with that finger bent or busted, I'm not keen on going into one of these doorways. Heck, It might only buy the fortunate soul but a moment or two to skedaddle outa here."

He waits and looks at Blandon...
