This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

You can stick them over in the interest thread, thanks!

OOC - Okay Drohem, I have created the Classic Traveller thread and made the initial post. I will first introduce yours and then a few posts later - rarmy's character.

Having rested for two days the party gathers once more at the Brazen Strumpet.

Beyla nods to the group, "Well, we are all together again and re-equipped to face our foes once more. This meeting concerns how we should best proceed. It is my hope that this time we can find the Pit and lay the dead to rest for good."

"Jolly and Foromo, how should we approach it this time?"

Drohem

Jolly thinks about it a moment before answering, and then says thoughtfully, "I think that we should go back through the graveyard entrance and scout it out.  Let's see if the Cultists are stiffened their defenses since our escape with the children.  I think that if we can follow the Cultists' trail it might lead us to the Pit.  They may have already discovered its location."

pbj44

Beyla nods, "Foromo, unless you have something to add, we will head out tomorrow and follow this plan."

rarmy

(OOC - Swore I posted something here yesterday, but do not see it anywhere...)

Foromo replies "No, nothing to add, unless where we got the children is where the pit is..."

Hurtag is sitting off to the side, listening, working on getting rid of this "New Sword" shine with some soot...

Hurmak is attentive, swearing that Beyla will not be touched this time...

(OOC - OK, let's get back to business...)

The next morning, as everybody gets together and makes ready to head off, you notice the Foromo, Hurtag, and Hurmak are missing. You remember they were huddled together last night, having a very good time, Hmmm, are they hung over?? Late getting up?? Wait, from the back of the Inn, you hear a melodious voice raise, High Tenor you believe, followed by a Low Tenor, being answered by a beautiful bass voice joining in...all in perfect harmony. Soon, you hear, and see the threesome, Foromo in the lead, followed by Hurtag, with Hurmak taking the rear. As they walk toward you, you hear what they're singing..."Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho, it's off to work we go..."followed by the whistling of the catchiest tune, the type that gets stuck in your head for hours.  They walk in perfect unison, almost like marching, as they go by you. That's when you realize their heading off, so you all scramble to catch-up.

(OOC - Question, do you fall in line? do you sing, hum, or whistle with them? I mean, come on, it is a funny sight, and I don't care who you are...)

Both Beyla and Shirl look at each other in wonder and then almost shyly join in, and everyone is having a good time until Baldue joins in lustily singing off-key, which causes both of the ladies to break down in gales of laughter. Baldue looks about, "What???"

Marching back to the graveyard you set up a vantage point to spy on the graveyard entrance to the catacombs. You are surprised to see several groups of cultists scattered about the tombs near that entrance. The are keenly watching the entrance, weapons at the ready...

They are a sorry looking, bedraggled bunch, with the appearance of recent hard fighting. As the sun climbs higher an obvious leader emerges from the entrance and waves them back into the dungeon. The do so reluctantly, and soon the graveyard is deserted once more.

What do you do?

rarmy

Going to send our intrepid Ranger, Hurtag, ahead to scout and investigate...

Hurtag approaches the area, quietly, working his way up to the door...what does he see / hear???

Drohem

Jolly and the others wait for Hurtag to return with his report.  Jolly and Mergo have their slings out and a bullet load in the pouch.  They are ready to support Hurtag with missile fire if he comes back to them being chased.

pbj44

Hurtag moves up to and enters the tomb entrance. There are clear signs of recent fighting in the tomb area. The stairs down into the catacombs are heavily smeared with dried blood.

The area is quiet.

rarmy

Hurtag, knowing he can be seen from above...waves them on down. He then meets them halfway, giving his report...

Beyla listens and then turns to Jolly, "What do you think?"

Drohem

Jolly thinks for a moment and then says, "it looks like the Cultists had an encounter with another faction of some kind.  If their numbers have been diminished then that is fortuitous for us.  Let's go in and have a look."

pbj44

Moving carefully down the bloody staircase you reach the now familiar landing.

The once closed door to the west has been smeared with blood and is now battered ajar.
