The din outside is terrific as the crowds of the dead alternately tear at the door and one another. The door is holding against the onslaught for now.

The staircase is filling with a "chuffing" noise followed by a crash as the creature hurls itself forward halfway up the staircase! It then pauses, hovers it's free hand lightly over the floor, leans its neck close to the floor, and becomes still. The tips of its horns begins to glow...

What do you do?

OOC - everyone has earned 100XP thus far. Please credit your NPCs accordingly as well.

"Mergo," Jolly yells as he rushes the creature before it can completely get up onto the landing, "let fly at will!"

Jolly rushes the creature with his shield up and flaming short short and is going to attempt to put out the flames by burying his blade in the creature's chest.

Jolly yells to Mergo as he rushes toward the headless creature, "let fly at will!"

Jolly charges the creature with his shield ready before it can fully get up the landing and attempts to extinguish his flaming sword by burying it into the creature's chest.

Norda roars at the giant and leaps in to attack (to hit roll 16)! She slashes it across the chest for 4HP of damage, causing the crippled giant to writhe and rear up in pain!

As everyone rushes to attack the headless creature the distinctive whirling sound of Mergo's sling is heard and just as they engage the creature a stone whizzes past their heads to slam directly into the creature's chest with solid force.

Jolly rushes into the fray with the others and stabs at the creature viciously but even without a head it somehow sensed the incoming attack and twisted it's torso to avoid Jolly's thrust.

OOC:  Mergo rolls a 20 and hits AC -1 for 3 damage with a sling attack.  Jolly rolled a 2 and missed with his short sword attack.

The monster is spurting black ichor in all directions!

Like lightning, it swings the enormous axe down on Norda (ATT ROLL = 10)! With astonishing speed Norda dives out of the way!

The noise and shock from the axe's impact blasts your eardrums! Something resembling clotted cream begins to weep from the creature's pores. Occasionally its body trembles - sending droplets flying...

Norda rushes back to the attack - a bit shaken...

OOC - Okay, Round 2 - GM rolls 2 for initiative.

Mergo whirls his sling above his quickly and let's another stone fly at the creature's center mass again.

Jolly changes his tactics and stabs at the creature's inner thigh trying to damage its ability to move.

OK, Hurtag and Hurmak - (OOC Rolls 5 & 3, both misses...)

Well, Hurtag swings at where the Creature was, which is not where it's at now...(Hmmm...)

Hurmak continues with Parry, Parry, whack, stab, stab, parry, thrust...not noticing there is no creature where he's aiming at...
