This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Drohem

Jolly readies his shield and draws his silvered dagger from his belt.

After looking everyone over and seeing that they are ready, he nods at Foromo and says, "let's do this and find Baldue."

With a mighty swing, Foromo bashes the wall, then Hurtag swings, alternating back and forth...

After blasting away at the wall for some time, you finally break through enough stonework that a metal structure and mechanism is finally revealed in the flickering light of your torches.

Pushing away the twisted metal, you poke a torch in, and can now see that this ancient hallway is covered its entire length in brackish, still water. Leaning against a nearby wall, half in and half out of the water, is a familiar crossbow.

It will take but a moment to finish the job and move into the water-covered corridor.

What do you do?

Drohem

"Hurmak," Jolly says as they finish breaking through the wall, "you should take the lead with your spear to test for pits, traps, and depth."

Foromo hands his lantern to Hurtag, "Refill this and make ready to back your brother..."

He then looks at Jolly, "hold on a moment..." pulls out an iron spike, and tosses it into the water. Anything???

OOC - Hi guys, before going further please make your NPCs 1st level and max their HP. Max your own PC's HP (should have done that from the start!). This will strengthen the party for the trials ahead!

pbj44

The thrown spike hits the water and takes a hop into the air before it sinks from view. You guess about six inches of water covers the floor of the corridor at this point.

is much longer than 6 in...so remember...all is not what you see.."

As you continue to study the corridor you briefly hear splashing in the distance. You also spy a pick handle, and an old platter against the far wall. Higher up on the North wall the stub of a dripping pipe extends out about a foot.

Drohem

"Alright," Jolly says finally, "let's get this done.  Hurmak, lead the way.  Peldic, give him the focus of the lantern several feet in front of him so he can see his spear end as he explores before him."

Beyla touches your arm, "Jolly, where do you want me? Also, I have a scroll of Light if needed."

Shirl chimes, "Yeah, Should I guard the rear - or stay up front?"

Drohem

"Foromo and I will follow Hurmak," Jolly says to the group, "Peldic and Mergo after, then Hurtag and Beyla, and Shirl you bring up the rear."

pbj44

Shirl whispers into Hurtag's ear, "Guard Beyla!"

Hurtag nods at Shirl, nods at Foromo, then places himself in a way to bring his shield up to cover Beyla...then nods at Jolly...

Hurmak steps through the opening...

This first step is a shock - the water stings with cold!

Probing ahead with the spear, you find that the crossbow is actually in a spot where the water begins to deepen.

Ahead you see that the the water level in both the North and South tunnels is about 4 feet deep and each leads to a staircase that descends down into the depths of the water - beyond the range of the lantern's light.
