This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Baldue eyes the red boots speculatively, "I sure would love them boots Boss!"

Norda begins poking around in the rubble, sword ready for trouble.

Beyla moves over to the opposite door and exclaims, "How odd!"

"My friends, this door was sealed with a holy symbol of the Hexarchs and this bottle of holy water."

She holds up both so as to catch light from the torch.

"What could it mean?"

Jolly says in an insightful tone, "we shouldn't be looking for spiders, but a vampire's coffin!  Check the rubble thoroughly, and if it's not here it must in a room nearby."

Jolly then moves to examine the eastern door to see which way it opens and if it's barred or locked from this side.

Baldue, Norda, and Beyla dutifully poke about through the rubble while Jolly examines the eastern door.

The door IS barred from your side. Three great bolts are shot into heavy casements. Taking a cautious sniff, you also discover that the door reeks of dried garlic. Looking at the door's surface, you can see that the whole of it is smeared with once fresh garlic paste.

Drohem

"Mergo, get a wooden stake and the hammer out of the backpack," Jolly says as turns back to the party, "it looks like the vampire's lair is in this next room.  Beyla, stand ready with that vial of holy water too."

==========================

OOC:  OK, will wait for Foromo to catch up.

Quote from: pbj44;737941This room is full of piles of rubble. In the center of the room, next to one of the few clear areas within, is the body of a halfling adventurer, sitting upright and facing your door -  his eyes staring unblinking at you. His features are grey.

Torch Count: 29

Foromo hollers out - "Jolly, Mergo, get in here..." while he proceeds to inspect the room, carefully going through the rubble, looking for anything of interest or profit.

(OOC - Oh, never mind, just realized all was already done...)

Foromo hefts his lockpick / hammer, pulls out an iron spike...looks over at Jolly, nods..."Wait"...he takes a long pull of Mead, holding it in his mouth, beckoning the Tourch Bearer to be ready...Nods in readiness...

Jolly nods in acknowledgment and says, "Peldic, stand ready for Foromo with the torch.  Mergo, stand ready to hand me the hammer and stake."

Jolly moves to the door and unbars it and tries to open it.

Foromo positions Peldic so that he can grab the torch if needed...hammer in his right hand, ready to tap Jollys shoulders to duck if needed...

As soon as the door opens a screaming body hurtles through the air towards both of you!

OOC - You have the initiative this round, so go!

Drohem

Mergo quickly twirls his sling and lets a stone fly, but it misses its mark.  Jolly quickly draws the silvered dagger from his belt and stabs the flying creature.

=============================================

OOC:  Mergo rolls a 8 to hit and misses.  Jolly rolls a natural 20 to hit and hits AC -1 for 3 damage.

pbj44

Jolly - The creature hangs on your blade for but a second and then with a gurgling moan falls at your feet.

OOC - Well played!

The air is now still and quiet, save for the pop and crackle of Peldic's torch. Looking down at the creature you see that it is a pale human, very emaciated and dressed in rags.

Before dying, he moans, "The master will kill all of you...but not quick...no, not quick...slowly...oh so slowly...

He then gasps and expires.

Foromo lays the hammer on Jolly's shoulder, pushing down, while grabbing the torch and spitting the mead at the figure, through the torch...

(OOC - Never mind, Jolly posted while I was posting... I guess I swallow the Mead...)

Foromo, you feel refreshed after the large swig of mead.

OOC - The party is standing at the "red dot" location on the map snippet.

Peering into the room you see an empty room, save for a pile of food wrappers near your doorway, evidence that a watch was being maintained on your entryway. A set of doors across from you are facing to the Southeast. they look like:

In the Northeast corner of the room is a statue of a paladin, defaced.

What do you do?

In the old days there were great conflicts between the Wisse (the men that ruled these lands before the Ondish) and the Fey:

"During the Elder Days, the Fey-folk subscribed to a belief in the balanced dualism between Order and Chaos. However, by the end of that time, many Elder-folk had developed a preference for Chaos and had been led down a dark path thereby. The Wisse, in reaction, threw themselves behind the Lords of Order. After their victory and dominion, the Wissen faith in Law was justified and formalized as a pillar of the Old Kingdom. This institution still survives, albeit in a much lesser form, as the Holy Hexadic Church."

That series of wars mostly wiped out the Onderland Elves. A few such folk still wander the Onderland - lost and far removed from what they once were. These engravings strike you as being from that time of conflict.
