As he readies his shield and draws his sword, Jolly says, "marching order.  Follow me and Foromo.  Keep the chatter down."

Peldic holds the torch in the middle of the line, and Mergo is before him with his sling in hand.

Everyone quiets down as you approach the archway opposite the "elevator". Peldic's torch reveals:



Indiscernible shouting, very distant.

Foromo whispers to Jolly..."Hold a minute, let me see what I can..." takes a step through the Archway...

Hurtag and Hurmak Stand side by side just in front of the Torch-bearer, weapons at the ready, you can barely make out Hurmak's mouthing of a prayer...

Foromo, you can see a fresco'd corridor beginning in at about 10 feet on the left. Some 10 feet beyond that you spy a door along the right wall of the hall dead ahead. There is a sharp clap in the distance of a door slamming.

OOC - I will update the map in no less than 10-20' increments so as not to make myself nuts. Let's see how it shakes out.

How long does the party linger at the archway?

Looking at Foromo, Jolly motions with his sword toward the door just at the start of the right corridor.

OOC - The star on the map marks Peldic's location - which is the location of the group's light source, of course.

Foromo, as the group approaches the door you notice a small rusted cauldron sitting next to it. Glancing inside you see that it is filled to near the brim with rotten teeth.



The sound of distant voices has faded, followed by the single tone of a chime. There is a faint ozone odor about the door area. The metal bands on the face of the door all look badly scorched.

Jolly what are you doing?

Next to the door a faint sigil name now appears - "Galstaff".

Jolly shrugs his shoulders in the universal symbol for not knowing and then motions for Foromo to open the door.

Beyla gets directly behind Foromo, "I am ready to heal you if needed" she murmurs.

Baldue hisses, "Okay you two, get a room...like this one! C'mon, move it!"

Norda whispers, "quiet you idiot!"

Foromo - It takes a few hard pushes, but the door finally yields and screeches opens:





This room is full of piles of rubble. In the center of the room, next to one of the few clear areas within, is the body of a halfling adventurer, sitting upright and facing your door -  his eyes staring unblinking at you. His features are grey.

Behind him, opposite your door, is another door banded with iron.

Baldue stomps his foot, "Okay, what's in there???!!!"

Peering around Foromo from the doorway, Jolly whispers back, "a corpse."

Jolly moves into the room to inspect the corpse of the poor fellow, and rifle through his pockets and belongings.

The party moves into the room as Jolly inspects the body. After a few minutes of checking Jolly spots two black punctures at the base of the Halfling's neck. These seem to be the culprits in this fellow's demise. Searching the body, you find a dagger with a silvered blade, and some rather nice red-leather boots.

Seeing the puncture marks in the corpse's neck, Jolly quickly turns to the group and says as he looks about the room, "be on the lookout for spiders in the rubble!"

Once the party is alerted, he turns back to the corpse and takes the dagger, and as he is pulling off the boots, he says to the corpse, "sorry, old chap, but I don't think that you will mind, will you?"

As he stands, he puts the dagger on his belt as he says, "if no one objects, I'll just hold onto this for now.  It will go into the party loot when we are done."
