Artifacts of Amber

Mal waits at the edge of the hedge, probably close to the other two. He is not a combat creature and something of a coward. (think Ambrosia in Labyrinth)

I will stop and listen. It does not sound like Caden is in danger and I will spend this round continuing stealth but using perception as best I can in the thick hedge. More ears than eyes.

OK.

Round 2

Alric

Search, Perception (WIS) 5' in front. No movement, no enviro interact. Stealth, as usual, remains until broken.
--------------

Caden

Caden raises his hands slowly, in a calming gesture. "I'm just here taking a look about, there have been strange happenings about here" he says slow and measured.
--------------

Encounter, 3x ???

"Strange things?" turns to tooth-necklace and bark-hisses. A quick exchange, but hard to tell any Perception or Insight due to the distance & gloom. "Well, she asked us to keep tall mangy ones out of here at night."

"But we can't have you tell other tall mangy ones. Don't tell them, Caden, we promised!"

You know, people keep comparing non-TSR D&D to deck-building in Magic: the Gathering. But maybe it\'s more like Katamari Damacy. You keep sticking shit on your characters until they are big enough to be a star.

Updated, :)

Bright Feather

This is frustrating. There's an obvious portal here, and it seems it should run on magic. But it's all from an Easterner perspective. So what could be the keys to unlock this?

Looking about to relax your thoughts, you notice Mal walks about the acolyte & weaver, then away into the graveyard, sniffing at the ground. He seems to go around erratically in circles and then run quick stopping at some blooming clusters of wildflowers. Mal goes about, comes towards you still sniffing, sniffs up along the monument and then turns to look at you.

With a snort he then licks his chops at you and trots back towards the weaver and acolyte as if curiosity satisfied.

Quote from: Artifacts of Amber;822628ooc - MAL for the Win!

Animals, once you really sit and watch them, are delightfully unpredictable and/or inscrutable. They're such an awesome GM challenge & opportunity at the same time. And Mal has really bloomed into a character in his own right over the posts.
:)

Round 3

Alric

Alric will continue toward the small shapes ahead though he is creeping (Maintaining stealth) and being careful due to his limited visibility. He won't move quickly unless he suspects someone is in danger.

Alric is currently next to these 3 creatures, obviously so well hidden because they do not respond to his nearness. ;)
-----------------

Caden

Caden nods at them "I can keep a secret". "Why does she want folk kept out at night?" he asks them giving his best conspiratorial tone hoping to convince them he is on their side.

[Roll Persuasion (CHA) for me.]
-----------------

Encounter, 3x ???

"Caden... don't you know there's spirits fighting below?" Flower-ear chides your obvious attempt at conspiring and just answers you outright. "You tall mangy ones already feed the nasty ones below plenty. She just keeps them busy from doing more harm."
-------------------------------------------

Almost Everyone Else

Hanalee

In current temporal distortion. Keep interacting so we can get you to 2:35 PM with everyone.
-------------------

Bright Feather

Still musing by Livonia's Monument. Was visited by Mal... for his own weird and wanton ways.
------------------

Karnath

Still threatening passersby for smite-worthy misbehavior. Soon, they and the town shall all be cleansed!

ooc - Oh I love running Animals and animal companions as well. One reason i like watching documentaries on such, just adds flavor to a game.

Marleycat

OOC: I'm stumped and not sure were everyone else is.
Don\'t mess with cats we kill wizards in one blow.;)

Arkansan

Caden smiles as if what was just related to him was something he'd always known "Of course, I just get a bit forgetful" He smiles and taps his head "been knocked about a few too many times".

He tries again "Say would mind reminding me why the spirits are fighting? I forget".

I rolled an 18 in room for any relevant checks.

Yes, it is challenging when people are allowed to split up. Quick summary:

Alric is inside the rough brush boundary surrounding the Old Graveyard. You know this because he said he went looking for Caden to see how he's doing. Caden informed that he was investigating some sounds in this rough vegetation beforehand.

Currently Mal and acolyte & weaver are waiting at the edge of the Old Graveyard, outside of the rough vegetation. They are roughly a good distance away from Bright Feather & Livonia's Monument, several hundred feet, but easily traversed in about 4 rounds of moving and Dashing.

The logical assumption is Mal, acolyte, & weaver are waiting for Alric & Caden somewhere in that border vegetation.

Hanalee went to investigate a potential connection between Blushing Flox home and the weird experience in the New Graveyard near Downtown. It's been an hour. You expect her, but also know she's a local and can likely take care of herself.

Karnath is, understandably, not stepping foot inside this Old Graveyard and has remained just outside it on the Main Trail. She is also about 4-to-6 rounds away by Dashing. She currently has her shield and mace raised, menacing passersby. She seems to have reached her breaking point with her patience with the people of this region. So far the few others who passed by on this trail of late have given her a wide berth.

Any other questions?

To what are you applying this roll check?

Trying to Deceive flower-ear of your ignorance shouldn't be too hard, you'd imagine. Are you looking for something in particular through conversation, or perhaps change their mood? Are you physically observing something? I'll give you a moment to clarify.
