This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Bright Feather looks to see the name of the bar the fur trader entered to remember it thinking to herself after this job she should have a great yarn to spin for him maybe as good as his own stories.
Don\'t mess with cats we kill wizards in one blow.;)

His eyes says he fucking hates you, and it is getting hard to return his gaze. Hold it another moment and it feels like something will go down.

Alric returns his gaze never being one to back down from unjust anger. if he can hear Alric. "Got a problem round belly?" Hoping the racial remark will trigger something.

Seems like Dive Bar B, near to Fistful of Ingots and some of the better dives.

Karnath

You see her smile at your recognition, and she heads on out of town.

Hanalee

"Won't be here long — barring any news from below — so take advantage of me while I'm here!"

His face sours at your 'odd jobs' comment, and then he takes a moment to look hard at each of your crew's faces. "I'll keep you and that offer in mind, and trust you'll be safe," he says with pursed lips. "Yeah... I guess it best to go see Cranagh now and let you be on your way."

He got one of those meddling looks you've seen run in your mom's side of the family. "So, uh, great seeing you my little fire-spitter! And I guess use the old grapevine to keep in touch, yeah?"

[A beat where you may mention any location or contact you want for him to leave any 'odd jobs'.]

"You take care — and find yourself already!" :D
/walks away towards Cranagh's old smithy.

Alric

A passing grimace shows that he is amused by your bravery, then shakes his head, his stare-down never leaving your eyes. Oh, he's a Lightfoot! He's on the larger side of your kind, possibly there are bigger types of your kind elsewhere in this strange East. Already Delta Earl gave you quite the surprise.

"Keep to your own blood," you read of his lips more than you can hear over the street's activity. In that weird time distortion of blood racing before fight or flight, you suddenly notice how casual and unnoticed this whole exchange is among the others around you both. Wow, your people really can be overlooked — how many of our life-threatening exchanges like this must go by unseen?

He chews his straw a slow, singular time as if he can taste his teeth grinding you down. He continues to stare you down, but he's not making any overt move to engage you. Hmm, we can be vicious little beast, can't we?

You know, people keep comparing non-TSR D&D to deck-building in Magic: the Gathering. But maybe it\'s more like Katamari Damacy. You keep sticking shit on your characters until they are big enough to be a star.

Artifacts of Amber

Alric takes this all in and under his breath much like the man before him " Chickenshit!"

Alric will continue to stare him down and if he doesn't bite at the challenge soon Alric will shakes his head with a look of disdain,a s if he had stepped in a cow patty and stomp off, having better things to do.

Caden just gives a grunt at the displeasure he has incurred. Today doesn't seem like a good day to go settling old scores.

Caden notices the looks between Alric and the other halfling and saunters over to Alric, thumbs hooked under his sword belt. He locks eyes with the other halfling and spits. Without ever shifting his gaze "someone troubling you friend?" he asks of Alric.

Artifacts of Amber

Alric holds the halfling's gaze. "Nope, Not yet."

"Starting to think this town is an idiot mine and they've struck it rich"

Mr. Kent

Hanalee asks Uncle Dondo to leave any messages with the staff at Geraldine's, as she's sure to check in there from time to time.

She hurries back to her group as they make their way to the edge of town, and she's just in time to sense some hostility brewing, and her fellow fighters Caden and Alric seeming a bit disturbed. The ladies in the group seem much lighter in mood.

"That was my uncle," she explains to the others. "I'll introduce y'all sometime, but he was sort of in a rush..."

"Wait--what did I miss?" she asks. "I step away for a second and everyone's all quiet."

Alric

His eyes travel briefly up Caden's height, and then he returns his dread gaze upon you with a contemptuous snort and smirk. He looks like he already won, seeing that your 'bigger friends' seem to be backing you up. You know he won't do anything now, but a sense of fury gnaws at you for being dismissed by having taller friends for backup.

He chews with utter hate again, this time with a smile but eyes never changing — then spits. Nope, nothing will be resolved right now. But visiting Delilah in the future will be something alright.
--------------

Caden

This is actually fascinating. You've never really paid attention to how much venom those affable, inoffensive halflings could muster between themselves. Wonder how much more you've been missing out on while focusing on other threats at a higher eye level.
--------------

Hanalee

Well Karnath and Bright Feather seem happy, while the guys are ready to shank someone in the dark. Obviously must be some sort of inscrutable male thing (testosterone poisoning). And with the visible size difference between Caden & Alric, staring off with great seriousness in the same direction, it is almost comical how much similarity there is between the races.

Sorta hesitant to burst their moment of bonding over some weird cross-racial, masculine ritual.

Karni is not so happy that the party is threatened, but not threatened enough for action. She might frown at the Halfling, but she doesn't say anything to distract Alric.

Alric issues a nod as if to say  this isn't over. "Sorry about the delay, Seems no matter how powerful the Gods magic is they have no "Cure Stupidity" magic or for that matter "Cure assholes who hate on the base of skin color like their blood is any whiter" "

Alric Hrumphs in disgust and continues on the trail, more important things to do than kick some inbred townsfolks ass.

New Graveyard, just outside Downtown

@ Quarter Past 10 AM

Alric, Bright Feather, Caden, Hanalee, & Karnath

A weird split in moods left a pensive air among you while leaving downtown. Thankfully it seems to have passed by the time you are outside of town and coming upon the New Graveyard here. The morning brings a business along this trail from the mines further above, significantly more than Caden & Hanalee remembered from last night.

A few people are milling off trail, even among the graves, which I guess should be expected during the day and so close to town. Some seem to be paying respects at graves. Others, often women and their papoosed babies, just harvesting herbs and roots wherever they grow. A rather peaceful scene and your group's spirits are getting back to its morning enthusiasm.

Most of you hear a baby cry in the distance, a bit faint and down mountain. (Passive Perception 13) It sounds pretty urgent. But as you look about there is now not as many other people where you are, let alone of those who seem aware of the crying. Hanalee & Caden know that it is another two miles or so to the Old Graveyard; you could all make it soon in about 40 minutes, so be there by 11 AM.

"Did any one else hear that" Alric tilts his head on the direction of the sound "Sounds like a caterwauling but I don't know baby noises so well?"

Karni:  1D20 =>   17

"Yes, what was that? We should go investigate."

Karni is LG after all.

Caden nods his agreement "Sounds like an infant to me, I maybe a callous bastard but even I can't ignore that."
