This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Alric & Bright Feather: GM freebie, it has nothing to do within the lyrics. You already know the loved one's name as it is chiseled upon the monument. You also already know which song, as it too is chiseled upon the monument. We can neatly wrap this up into Bright Feather's most excellent Investigation.

Caden: Along with your +5 in the skill, your Stealth is 16 until you break it. Basically you are assumed to have hidden behind some large tombstone or bush, waited, and are now slowly moving into that area silently, hiding as you go. If you make noise you can give away your position, but from the graveyard to the bushy edge was not hard. Unless I make you take some sort of "save" on dry twigs, you won't have to roll it continuously.

Search using Perception or Investigation would be a good idea before delving further.

Or you could always Attack in the general direction.
Just make your fuckin\' guy and roll the dice, you pricks. Focus on what\'s interesting, not what gives you the biggest randomly generated virtual penis.  -- J Arcane

You know, people keep comparing non-TSR D&D to deck-building in Magic: the Gathering. But maybe it\'s more like Katamari Damacy. You keep sticking shit on your characters until they are big enough to be a star.

I rolled a 7 for perception or investigate, which ever is more appropriate here.

Alric, Bright Feather (acolyte & weaver)

Heavily invested in Livonia's Monument mystery. The acolyte & weaver whisper to one another while looking curiously about.

Karnath

Still on the Main Trail. Two Easterner passersby asks if your friends knew the deceased. One asks if you are scared of the dead since you are not with them. They most likely seem to be making idle chat, though the latter one seems to be flirting and wanting to be the hero. Part of them seem curious, yet intimidated, by a native woman dressed up for battle.

Caden

Once inside the shadowed East edge of vegetation, along the downslope, you pick among the dry twigs and broad tree branches. You occasionally hear snatches of movement within, just ahead, always just ahead. Looking upon the litter floor you see more of the small clawed foot tracks you saw before.

They must be moving north, along the graveyard edge, away from where you first hid behind a tombstone. Clever.

You hear occasional soft whimpering cut off by brief chittering, still too soft to locate. As you spend a good thirty seconds in this (Slow 100') pursuit you come across a tiny, unnatural bundling on the ground. It looks like bone and skin (bits of cloth?) wrapped up by sinew (twine?). Pick it up?

Artifacts of Amber

Alric turns to the two " Ya'll got any ideas?"

Maybe not precisely it could be a physical key also. It almost seems as if it's an actual door or similar...
Don\'t mess with cats we kill wizards in one blow.;)

He flinches, "Hey, thought a pretty lady could use a strong arm to lean on in her time of sorrow, is all. I get it, you're still all tore up inside." Backs away, hands up, to his friend and they start to head off as your silence kills their small talk.

Overheard, "Touchy... (in Easterner) are they that fiery in bed, too?"

Mr. Kent

Hanalee, Blushing Plox home

Hanalee looks at Mother Plox with interest, but caution. "I...yes, ma'am, I would like my marriage fortune told, but..."

She pauses upon hearing the hollow voice call out. "But I wouldn't want to upset your daughter. How is she faring? Still the same since I saw her last?"

Hanalee will wait for the young maid to come out, but is increasingly eager about the marriage fortune-telling.

So they are not only sexist, but racist; if the town is like this, then it should be destroyed.

Karnath — Are such concepts so alien and reviled from Karnath's home? You are welcome to try to impose your view of the world upon the town. The silver boomtown is 3 miles to your South.

------------
edit: Reminder, I normally run Common as the local Human Lingua Franca, but due to nations and tribes other Human languages exist. Also other Demihuman languages exist, just like the two elven languages experienced so far. Everyone around you, and you yourself, speaks: Western Shoshone. Western Shoshone is the regional Common.

Due to not creating every language group yet upon creation, I had no complete language list to give you. So your language slots are still dynamic. For personal flavor you are free to cement them according to your PC background.

Currently Karnath ("Nahuatl"), Caden & Hanalee ("Easterner," a.k.a. "English"), and Bright Feather (Shoshone Elven, now actual canon due to roleplay) are possible native tongues within this party. Choose of that what you wish for flavor. Yes, that means you could, as can NPCs, share secrets. But, beware, Boomtowns tend to become polyglot places!
-----------

Hanalee — roll me Repeat 6 1d6 in the rolz.org dice room. I'm gonna read your future! :D

Hanalee

"Oh dear, don't be shy! Every woman wants to be a bride and have a home blooming with children." She beckons you inside with her hand, seems like she misses reliving her skill and importance.

/Crash of a wooden container deep in the house. You hear a sigh follow it.

"My daughter, she too is getting married this coming spring, a mere moon from now. She will be a beautiful bride. So much of herself she put into her trousseau.

"She will start her new home with that handsome human trapper who came from the reclusive elvish pines. They will have strong and winsome children. I will be a grandmother yet!" (it is now currently midsummer, her story seems odd.)

/A wracking sob from deep in the house, then abruptly cut short. The old father starts up a coughing fit, but it sounds forced, fake.

The old mother turns to her husband with concern, "Oh no, dad. Sweet daughter! Your father could use a steam bowl for his cough again." (Wasn't the daughter already preparing one?)

"I'm so glad my Flower has friends like you. Your hair will make her a lucky bridesmaid. Golden orange like the poppy common over the mountains. Oh, where is that bowl of pine nuts. I should read your marriage fortune for when you get married!"

Leaning in confidence and speaking softly, "They said I really had the talent for it in my day. But pride loses the Kitchen Basket Wife spirit's favor, so not so loud. What was your name again, honeycomb?"

Shall Karnath go forth and smite them! :) They are just cresting the next ridge. You could reach them if you really push yourself! Give me a STR roll to see what DC you reach and we'll roll CON for sustaining the sprint.

Caden will pick up the bundling on the ground and give it a good looking over.

Mr. Kent

Hanalee nods appreciatively, but keeps looking back at the source of the noise. "I...I'm just going to run inside, and see if she needs some help with that. But--don't worry! I'll be sure to get my fortune before I leave!"

Hanalee backs away slowly, then walks briskly through the house to see what is causing all the noise. "Hello?" she calls out.
