Karni will avoid going back to the graveyard.
The most beautiful peonies I ever saw ... were grown in almost pure cat excrement.

OOC: Karnath, this is the Old Graveyard, not the Downtown New Graveyard. Only Hanalee & Caden saw this area last night. However, reticence from all graveyards is understandable after today's earlier experience.

OK, I am assuming no Help; everyone gets to roll separately.

Alric, roll Investigation (INT) to search for anything magical on Livonia's Monument.

Bright Feather, roll Investigation (INT) to search for anything else of general unusual note on Livonia's Monument.

Caden, roll Perception (WIS) to actively spot anything else unusual throughout the Old Graveyard grounds. (Alric already mentioned and pointed out the animal and Kobold tracks, and pointed out the fresh young kobold tracks towards the Old Graveyard's Eastern down-mountain edge towards bushes and wide trees.)

You know, people keep comparing non-TSR D&D to deck-building in Magic: the Gathering. But maybe it\'s more like Katamari Damacy. You keep sticking shit on your characters until they are big enough to be a star.

Caden does another circuit among the Old Graveyard. Walking by the Eastern down-mountain edge you hear a gasp, hurried by a brief murmur then silence. You continue on the perimeter and notice that some of the Southern, & especially South Eastern, headstones are settling deeper into the soil than normal.

Artifacts of Amber

Alric not being trained in investigation can't help Bright but will look on his own.

OOC - I have no bonus and no proficiency and for some reason by computer is not letting me into the rolling room so could you do me the honors :) Thanks

Don\'t mess with cats we kill wizards in one blow.;)

Caden will quietly try to alert the others to the gasp he heard then he will move to investigate, making a mental not of the change in ground near the headstones for later investigation.

Artifacts of Amber

Rolled a 9. So probably didn't discover much :)

OOC: Well that was better than my roll of 4. We'll go with yours instead.

Caden signals to you all that he's heard something at the far Eastern edge of this graveyard and is checking it out. The weaver & acolyte remain nearest Alric & Bright Feather. Karnath still remains upon the Main Trail, not even entering this Old Graveyard.

OOC: Is Stealth being used at all before Investigate?
-------------------------

Alric searches about intently for magical clues. There's rapid poking with a stick, tapping & waving about each inch or so in case anything glows, sounds, or explodes. A bit distracting, but rather cute overall. Among your people, Bright Feather, that would be an admirable use of time for caution; clumsy and novice about arcana, but admirable patience.

Bright Feather notices (among other things about stone, workmanship, value, likely weight & labor. let me know if you're curious.) a fine line between the decorative stone framing and the main face of the dais epitaph. They don't seem covered with lichens or as weathered as other parts of the monument. Seems like they have been magically preserved and would move with a key —

"Hey! Look!" Alric somehow clambered atop the 5'x5'x5' raised platform for the obelisk and is on his hands and knees scrutinizing each inch. Looking up from your investigation has you looking at him eye-to-eye from above your eye level, a novel experience. He points out there's words atop this front-facing edge, and they're in Easterner.

Acolyte, being nearby, taller, & unoccupied, reads off the upward-facing inscription, "'Caress as if to turn back time, and call out your loved one for a song.'

"'They call the wind Moriah.'
"

Looking up from the stone the acolyte adds, "Actually, no we don't. But whatever keeps Easterners happy and not messing with dangerous things." He shrugs and walks back to the young weaver to observe you both investigating.

"Song Sheoot, I don't sing Bright how about you?" Alric mutters as he climbs down feeling a little foolish with how involved he became.

ooc- does the word Moriah mean anything to me. I mean Alric AoA gets the reference :)

Opaopajr

OOC: Actually, you have likely traveled enough to hear some old timers sing a song that has that line. Remembering all the lyrics is another matter.

Caden & Hanalee both have a chance due to being Easterners, but Hanalee might be too young.

Bright Feather might from sheer age, but there's a chance of being culturally isolated, too.

Karnath is likely too foreign to know of it.

Honestly songs aren't my interest but this headstone seems better preserved then should be possible without magic....

OOC: Caden, let me know how you are approaching the 'gasp mystery.'

Alric & Bright Feather, I will let you two marinate on how to approach this mystery. You both also have the acolyte & young weaver with you, which helps for location purposes.

Karnath & Hanalee, you both are currently continuing what you are doing. Let me know when you want to change anything.

"So Bright think this is a hint to some magical password or somthin'?"

Arkansan

Caden is going to cautiously probe around for the source of the sound. He will attempt to sneak so as not to accidentally run head first into danger.

I rolled an 11 for whatever check I may need here.
