Are you referring to the Downtown New Graveyard ordeal, upon returning from delivering the snake bitten mother? Well, are you looking for the IC experiential story from your party members, or their recent IC investigation into History & Lore, because I don't want to step on their toes there. Or am I misreading your question?

You know, people keep comparing non-TSR D&D to deck-building in Magic: the Gathering. But maybe it\'s more like Katamari Damacy. You keep sticking shit on your characters until they are big enough to be a star.

Alric posed a question to others about what happened and what they have learned since. Was waiting on PC replies :)

Gm may continue to nap as needed :)

Opaopajr

OK. Boss monster and army of undead stand at the ready,  waiting on the heroes. :D

ooC - Can I poke the boss monster with a stick and run away or do we have to wait on the tank to arrive to run this dungeon?

OOC: you can always try. :D

However you, Alric, & Caden are present and ready to explore the Old Graveyard. You two are welcome to pursue as Bright Feather & Karnath wait outside the area on the Main Trail. Naturally anything you discover on your own as active PCs would grant your own XP, as it has been before. Being active and taking risks produce consistent rewards.

ooc - do I smell bait?

Alric looks to the others who seem to be deep in thought. He finally gets t ired and mutters. "New graveyard hopefully means new or young threats. And if this be how the new graveyard is like I'm sure glad we got side tracked from the Ole one. It probably full of vampires and liches"

Alric will make his way around the edge of the graveyard. He leaves Mal with the others who are waiting. He is sizing up the land, as if, he was hunting. Looking for any obvious patterns in the ground and markers. He especially takes notice of the trails left by his companions, as last he saw them, in the graveyard and tracks them backward.

are the markers mostly stone or wood?

OOC - Make what ever rolls you need. Thinking most are survival and perception, Alric is +4 on both.

OOC: Bright Feather would like to move this along already hint hint...lets go do the job that will actually make us the money we need ie. lets go to the Old Graveyard and see what is up.

Old Graveyard, 3 Miles out from Downtown exit

2:15 PM

Alric, Bright Feather, Caden, Karnath (npcs: acolyte & weaver)

Alric enters the graveyard in hunter mode, taking careful notice of any tracks and any unusual grave markers. Asking back to his companions where they've been in this graveyard, not being able to find any fresh human-sized tracks, Caden replies that he and Hanalee did not so much as enter the Old Graveyard as walk by it last night. Bright Feather seems impatient about Alric's interest to return to the Downtown New Graveyard[/U], even if he assumes this Old Graveyard is naturally more dangerous by implication. One can only surmise by Karnath's silence that she thinks similarly as Bright Feather.

A curious sprinkling of tracks, besides the obvious hares and occasional weasel family or coyote, recurs however. They seem to be small, clawed bipedal prints, most likely Kobolds. There are very fresh ones about here, particularly at the edge of this flowery graveyard towards the down mountain slope of bushes and splaying, mid-sized madrones, albeit so small as to assuredly be young ones.
-----------------------

The grave markers are mostly dressed stone here, which is an immediately noticeable difference. The acolyte goes into the story of how all this came to be, basically the founding story of Livonia's Lament. (Details if PCs are curious. Possibly tangentially related to the mystery here, but more oblique than immediately helpful.) Essentially the spouse of Livonia made it over the mountains, got rich, and came back years later with laborers to honor his first wife with this massive stone monument, and all the other lost settlers in this graveyard since then with dressed headstones.

The massive grave monument is a 10' tall obelisk over a large 5'x5'x5' dais. It is dedicated to Livonia "My Dearest Love Who Followed Me to the Ends of the Earth." It also has an epitaph of her Lament, "I'll die if I move an inch more. Ooh, a poppy flower —"

(Any Easterner PC with a passive perception over 10, or Native with passive perception over 12, will immediately note that Livonia's monument is likely a sub-surface mausoleum.)

Any active checks? Strategic PC placement? Prioritized objects of interest?

Artifacts of Amber

Alric notices Brightfeather's impatience thinking to himself "Well if she would just help then we could get done sooner"

Alric will make a search around the marker potential mausoleum to see if any of it has been disturbed and look for any thing arcane or divine about it such as markings or carvings. He may not be able to identify them but he can at least point them out.

Bright Feather studies Lavonia's Monument for a few moments.

Caden will check out the grave markers and see if he notices anything that looks out of sorts or recently disturbed.
