Quote from: dragoner;784891Seeing and talking to Bright Feather, she will ask Hanalee to stop so they can set the litter down, telling Caden as well, then they can wait for the runners from the elders to arrive.

:) Not possible, too much distance between you currently. She's and uptown girl, and you're not even a downtown girl yet. :p

Though check the follow-up post already made.

You know, people keep comparing non-TSR D&D to deck-building in Magic: the Gathering. But maybe it\'s more like Katamari Damacy. You keep sticking shit on your characters until they are big enough to be a star.

Alric doesn't think anything he finds at this point is gonna be helpful. He'll move back down the trail so that he might see his friends returning in an hour or so he guesses. Until then he will watch the Den from the best Blind he can find of make and wait patiently as hunting has taught him. And he'll give Mal the bone, can't help who he is.

Ok, so then however it works out, looks like others have come to take the injured woman.

OOC: Question: With the litter made and the victim moved, what sort of assurances do you believe you have that your friends are returning back to this distant, down-mountain corner of the new graveyard?

The graveyard is sizable, like most busy graveyards, and is on a partially flattened grade on the mountain slope. To be at its NE corner is to be lower and almost out of sight from the Main Trail, and that is closer than where the victim was found.

The Forgotten Claim/Den is down a sizable escarpment (it took you two minutes to safely get down to that next terrace-like ridge). There is no possible way to have visual distance from a blind observing this Claim/Den & the Main Trail.

Mal initially snorts & sneezes at the bigger bone, then goes at it. He suddenly backs up, spits it out, and tries to clean his muzzle on the dirt and wipe out his mouth with his tongue (like a dog with peanut butter). He won't touch it anymore. Weird.

Mr. Kent

Hanalee exhales slowly and allows the men to take her place with the litter. "I hope she'll be all right--I think my friend here saved her life!" she tells the men, gesturing to Karnath.

OOC - Quoted from character sheet  "Flaw: Overly trusting"

Alric is convinced they would not just abandon him here. That they would return to the scene where they left him. And It's not like a days travel just a few minutes to call out to him or come find him.

So no real reason other than faith in strangers.

Alric realizing he can't keep an eye out for his friends and the den, would rather keep an eye on the den knowing his friends will come find him before to long. He knows they would run to town but most likely just walk back taking a few hours perhaps.

Meanwhile he will look over the Bone to try identifying it.

OOC i Pitiful roll of 6 on d20, if survival is a 10 if knowledges a 6.

Arkansan

Caden will really push the pace to try and make the rest of the distance. He points the men in the direction of the snakebite victim as he makes his way past them.

OOC: If a check is needed I rolled a 20 in room.

Karni will be humble in the light of Hanalee's compliment, "I do what I can, it is in the Great Goddess' hands." Then follows the other litter bearers, so she can get her shield back.

in town

Next 3 Minutes

Caden

So close, you're gonna push yourself that last bit to the Elders' Place. Cradling the baby & board tighter you sprint the last 1/4 mile, covering twice your normal speed (600'/minute). People have noticed there's been an emergency with all the running braves about, so you find that a clearer path opens up to your sprinting here.

Oh!, there is Bright Feather. She's not running as fast as you saw before, maybe winded. Still so close to getting the baby to shelter & support...
(you cross each other about 1/3 away from Main Street Well, uptown.)

Before the end of three minutes you reach the Elders' Place and already there are arms reaching forth to take care of the baby. Other women, old & young reach up with both arms to brush your cheeks with gratitude. Immediately after the gesture they turn their attention to the baby and start checking and attending to it.

There seems to be a cleared space in the side front entrance to care for the victim. Sand of different colors in bowls is already gathered, designs are being made upon the floor by the more spry of the male elders. You smell herbs being crushed & brewed by a cluster of female elders.
-----------

Bright Feather

*phew* Heh heh, yeah a sit down would be good. But what about the mom, and her baby! Gotta push — oh, and there's the baby. Wow, Caden is booking it... yeah, go Caden. *phew*

Oh my goodness, feeling a bit parched, good thing the well is coming up. /whoosh. And there goes two braves carrying the stricken mother. You remember running like that, but right now it winds you just to see it.

Where's Karnath & Hanalee, though? And where's Alric? Oh yeah, he might take a while longer still.

---------------

Karnath & Hanalee

"Come, report what you saw. The Grandmothers must know." The hale braves take up the litter and dash back. They are getting up to three times speed, which is remarkable considering the delicate load. Youth.

You see them slow down and adjust by the time near the well, but they are small by then. They quickly start back up and begin their impressive speed again. They blaze by people, some who turn aside to watch the break neck pace.

Are you following them in these three minutes by the way?

Forgotten Claim terrace

whipping you through the next 20 minutes to keep you contemporary with the group.

11 AM for everybody.

Nothing but a nice hot day and some tiny wildlife. Yeah, can't really make sense of the bone markings right now, a bit too bright & warm to focus (used Survival). Easiest thing is to note the gnaw marks; the creature/s is/are medium-sized, so less fox or coyote, more wolf.

A wolf would have cracked the end knobs off more by now, however, if it was a gnawing bone. Perhaps haven't got to it yet, a kill still available in the cave. Would explain the smell.

Mmm, nice and warm, could almost take a nap. But you remember stories from other hunters on this side of the mountain how fast sun sickness can slip upon you here. Perhaps a nice, shadier blind to watch... or nap.

Artifacts of Amber

Alric finds a comfortable place to watch the "Lair" and remain somewhat concealed. But it shouldn't be too comfortable out of the sun and he pulls Mal's Canteen drinking some himself and pooling some in his hand slowly for Mal to slurp.

He will avoid sleep if possible, using whatever hunter tricks he knows to keep his mind active. He'll rest in the shade giving his friends several hours if need be. He knows not how serious the girl and baby were hurt, they may need his friends gifts for a while.

He has hunted and stalked enough to know patience in the woods.

Arkansan

Caden will hand off the child, explain the situation, and then double back for Alric. If he comes across any of the group he will let them know his intent.

Mr. Kent

Hanalee does her best to keep pace with the litter bearers. She fully intends to tell these "Grandmothers" everything she's seen about the snake attack once she arrives at the destination.

Bright Feather will stop at The Well (she isn't stupid). She will take a cup of water and drink it while waiting for Karni given she has seen her message has been received and being acted on quite efficiently.
Don\'t mess with cats we kill wizards in one blow.;)

dragoner

Karni will follow Hanalee and the men carrying the woman on her shield, to help out, and just to get her shield back. If she sees Bright Feather by the well, she will wave and tell her where she is going.
