This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Solange chuckles softly at Tanner's remark. "It was enough 'to wake the dead' as you say," however as she glances down at the corpse again her mirth fades.  She had seen enough, and heard of more, to not entirely discount the possibility of the mangled body rising to some twisted form of life.  But that was of course utter madness...

"What do you see," she asks Addison as she stands just behind him and slightly to his left, ready to follow him into the back room.

Of course...  :)

Ronin

Sorry I havent posted in couple days. Real life stepped in. anyways back to the game.

From the blood and gore surrounding the corpse, their are several sets of bloody footprints leading to the back room. One of the tracks looks familiar to all of you. It looks like the print of a hobnailed jackboot. There also seems to be a lot of cast off, blood droplets. The attackers must have been covered with their victims blood.

After a quick whistle "Quite a blood trail here. See the hobnail pattern..."as I squat and pan my light on the tracks and follow them into the backroom with the beam. "Must have been one mad S.O.B to do this." as I motion to the splatter pattern.

I feel a drip of sweat run down my neck as I look into my companions faces,  gauging thier mettle as the thought hits...this mother doesn't even try to be stealthy...

and find myself stating the obvious, hoping my voice doesn't betray my fear..."We need to see where these tracks lead, might be stairs back there."

Ronin. Could you provide more detail on the backroom and the lighting/field of vision in there?

No problem Ronin, I totally understand. :)

Solange nods grimly to Tanner.  "And it appears perhaps a Nazi fils de salope has not even changed his boots."  She flashes a wicked grin, and lights a cigarette while they consider tactics.

"Perhaps stairs.  Obviously some means of escape.  We would use the sewers and even the catacombs sometimes...perhaps it connects to a bunker of some kind?"

(Waiting for Addison to make a crack about fightin' in a basement. ;) )

Nikolai might have some choice things to say about that...being a hero of Stalingrad (with a shovel!?) and all!

and yeah, fully understand how life can come a call'n Ronin. No problem.

OK, first off because I cant resist,

Lt. Aldo Raine: You didn't say the goddamn rendezvous was in a fuckin' basement.
Lt. Archie Hicox: I didn't know.
Lt. Aldo Raine: You said it was in a tavern.
Lt. Archie Hicox: It is a tavern.
Lt. Aldo Raine: Yeah, in a basement. You know, fightin' in a basement offers a lot of difficulties. Number one being, you're fightin' in a basement!

then,

Sgt. Donny Donowitz: Speaking of Frau von Hammersmark, whose idea was it for the death trap rendezvous?
Lt. Archie Hicox: She chose the spot.
Sgt. Donny Donowitz: Well, isn't that just dandy.
Lt. Archie Hicox: Look, she's not a military strategist. She's just an actress.
Lt. Aldo Raine: Well, you don't got to be Stonewall Jackson to know you don't want to fight in a basement.

:p Now back to your regularly scheduled game.

The back room very dimly lit by the dawning sun, obfuscated by the curtains of a lone central window. The room seems a collage of dark shadows and boxes of stock. To the right, in the gloomy dark appears to be a stacked set of stair cases. One leading upward presumably to the living quarters above the store. The other leads down to the basement. The bloody prints leading from the body in a gory path toward the basement stairs.

Nikolai begins to speak.
"This is bad comrades. Reminds me of Stalingrad. To what the Huns called Rat Krieg. We battled in the sewers, avoiding the open land cursed with snipers and artillery. Thinking back to it. I'm not sure what was worse. 88 shells bursting above head, or проклятую germans SMG's in the filthy tunnels."

Funny, I was waiting for the same thing from you Skofflox.... ;)

Solange nods to Nikolai.  "It is not a good situation.  A basement, and potentially multiple foes."  She examines the bloody tracks more closely, trying to determine how many individuals they seem to belong to, and whether they all seem to be human.

She sighs.  "If only I had a sten gun and some plastique...."

:o

Tanner Whispers (slaughtering the attempted French with his southern drawl) "Yeah,le petit grognards here will have to suffice."as he claps his comrade Nikolai on the shoulder and smiles wanly at Solange's comment.

Bending close to the blood to try and discern how long it has been since the massacre, noting color and viscocity by probing with a bit of detritus from the wreckage of the store goods.

Ronin; Shall I roll a Knw check for the attempt?
The hunting background as noted in my char. desc. might help here.

Yeah, I figured we would use the +1 thing

Its hard for you to get a read on the bloody prints and gore. You can tell shopkeep was killed sometime in the night. But not when or how many attackers there might have been.

After scratching his head a bit..."Can't make heads nor tails of these bloody tracks. I'm guess'n our man here was aired out last night...no secret thar."

Tanner looks to Solange and Nikolai "Any Ideas?" as his light gyres around randomly over the gory scene as he rises from his squat, knees popping, and takes a few tentative steps into the storage room,.45 at the ready.
