Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Through Pinnacle and Savage Worlds, yes.  Seems like a good fit.

EDIT:  @The Game Guy--yeah, The Forge booth seemed pretty sad.  Wonder if they got the short end of that split.  I saw a couple of demos, but nothing like years previous.  I'll try to get a pic.

There aren't too many games that have had the experience that one did.
"Ghost Whistler" is rated PG-13 (Parents strongly cautioned). Parental death, alien battles and annihilated worlds.

Up and going.  Might be a weird day for updates, but I should be able to get plenty in by the end of it all.

Happily!

12:20:  Just finished up a great Microlite74 game.  I had wonderful players, and we had a lot of fun trying to get as much loot as they could out of the dungeon.

We had breakfast with the good folks of GOLD: The Series.  We had a great time and some great discussion.  That's half the fun of Gen Con, is just talking to folks who get the hobby.

Michael S (Chgowiz), Jeff (Bonemaster), and I wil be part of the 2009 GM's Jam in about an hour, but I wanted to get a quick update in.

Met RPG Diehard today--great to put the name to the face (or vice versa).

By request, here's a shot of the IPR booth.

Here's another shot of the Cubicle 7 booth.  It's near-impossible to get a shot of the whole group at once.

Ever wonder where the Black Gamer T-Shirt comes from?

Those are no costumes, those are cosplays... so Gen Con is being invaded by anime fans?
Swords & Wizardry & Manga ... oh my.

Food?

I was lucky to remember to eat. Between adrenalin, high restaurant prices and other things - I was lucky to have/afford what meals I did. Think I've had breakfast buffet at the hotel and a yogurt bar.

Tonight I'm going to that wedding that is happening at Gen Con. Calye * and Phil are getting married here.

You can't see it in this shot, but Cubicle 7 had a really gorgeous GM screen (preview sample, not for sale) for Starblazer Adventures.
The Secret Volcano Base: my intermittently updated RPG blog.

Running: Pathfinder Scarred Lands, Mutants & Masterminds, Masks, Starfinder, Bulldogs!
Playing: Sigh. Nothing.
Planning: Some Cyberpunk thing, system TBD.

15:24: We had a great GM's seminar!  Here is a picture of (left to right) Josh Dalcher of Stupid Ranger, myself, Jeff U. of The Bone Scroll, Michael Shorten of Chgowiz's Blog, and Tony Law of RPGCentric.  I think we all agreed we want to do this again in 2010.

I thought we got a lot of great advice out of the attendees.  I hope some of them turn their efforts online, because they'd be a welcome addition to our community.

The Privateer Booth was busy, but perhaps not quite as manic as last year.

I  love the Expeditious Retreat Press booth!  They're one of the best small-press publishers out there.  Good to see Joseph and Suzie staying busy.

Some of the WotC staff are getting in trouble for staying in the press room too much while waiting for interviews.  Perhaps they're trying to intimidate us!  Get out of our room, WotC!

I don't quite agree the Exile Game Studio booth design.  It was recessed, with sort of a dark interior.  Not an eye-grabber:

This has to be one of my favorite pics I've taken thus far:

I took lots more photos today, but I'm getting ready to spend some time here with my daughter.  I'll be doing a big ole update tonight.

I would have loved to be there with you guys for the GM seminar. I so want to put faces on the names. It's good to know what Michael Shorten looks like, and Expeditious Retreat man, this is one sweet publisher. Love these guys.

As for the last pic... just plain cute awesomeness. :)

I always miss GenCon until I see the shots of how the gaming areas are a giant cattle call (complete with cows and methane) combined with an intolerable wall of sound and then I stop missing GenCon.   It is a fun experience, but not a great gaming experience.

Quote from: Seanchai;320915I ate a cheeseburger yesterday - how about you?

Did mine encrusted with fresh peppercorns grilled with crushed kalamata olives instead of the usual amino acids.   It added a sour/balsamic flavor to the spicy peppered meat which was interesting, but I am unsure if I'd do it again.  However, the sourdough onion roll was perfect.

Seriously, what's the difference? Color me ignorant on the matter! :hmm:

Sorry, my remark was not meant as a lecture. I wanted to show my surprise about the display of costumed anime fans at a role playing game convention.

Last time I attended Gen Con (in 2001) I didn't see any cosplayers. Although there was already a part of the program called "anime circuit" (and Gen Con having an anime room for long time before, and having hosted one of the first sceenings of Akira in the US), it still seemed to be a half-hearted attempt to cater to the anime community.
All attempts to bring both communities together here in Germany failed so far, despite the efforts of our largest RPG convention (RPC).

Speaking of the RPC ...
