This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Zach, find Rodney Thompson at the WotC booth and ask him for the secret  about 4e that he mentions on his blog.

Dr Rotwang!

Zach, get down on the floor and gimmie twenty.  Then jump like a monkey, and refresh my drink.  That's Vanilla Coke, NO ICE.

Also, see to the hounds.

Quote from: joewolzI happen to know for fact it's a second printing, and not a new edition.  Ask 'em again...

You be right.  I sit here, shame-faced. :o

Also, the rabid fanboy who told me the Hyborian Age Gazeteer was out was wrong--they're doing preorders.  They do have a new Conan out, though!

Zach, if you find the time:

Is Septimus out (WEG)?

City of Brass (Necromancer)?

Yeah, those three years have just flown by. :(

OHT, apparently actual physical rilly real copies of CoB were sold at Origins. Or was that GAMA? One of the two, but the fact remains.

BTW, if you're considering buying one, make sure to get it from amazon. Steep rebate last time I checked.

Pic time!

Tony LB and Judd(Paka) at The Play Collective.  Tony was really jovial, really friendly.  Tony's in white, Paka in red.  The female is Emily Care Boss, who ran a Shooting The Moon demo for me.  Story Games will probably like it, the rest of you perhaps wouldn't.  Emily was super-sweet, though, really funny, and entertaining:

The White Wolf rep I spoke with said Monte Cook's WoD sales were "fair to middling".  Translate that as you will.  Here they sit, forlornly:

White Wolf always has really, really nice, pleasant staff, whatever you may think of the company.  However, they seem to have a lot of fans in that booth that are Grade-A assholes.  I think they might lead Gen Con in that.  Well, at least percentage-wise.  WotC's bigger, and so has more, but a lower percentage.

-A passing bespectacled ninja just told a bunch of people to "not run, ever!"  Only at Gen Con.

-AEG has nearly sold out of their L5R companion, and they seemed pretty happy about that.  And, I did verofy what I think we all knew:  no more "World Largest" products anytime soon.  Here's their feature product:

4 seperate WotC employees denied gamers were ever told 3.5 would be around until '09.  I don't have time to cite any original sources for that complaint--anyone want to help?  Meanwhile, folks were signing up for D&D Insider in a steady, but not crushing stream:

Mongoose's booth was really, really dead when I went.  It wasn't yesterday, but then again, on the first of Gen Con, few booths are.  Here's a pic of their Traveller pimping and new edition of Conan:

Gentlemen, here are your boogeymen:

Ron Edwards is the one directly behind Mr. Blue Hat.  I'll say one thing:  they run a whole hell of a lot of demos, and for each other's games, too.  Very collective.

-I spoke with Ken Hite, and that was...interesting.  Bottom line, Gaming Report owed him sim payment, they didn't do it, so he didn't write.  He'll do a Gen Con report for them, but then he's likely going to Paizo.  That shine is off that apple, fellas.

Aces & Eights has nearly sold out.  Kezner has so much fun with demos--they're a very likable company.  Here's Dave, ready to pimp A&8:

FINALLY saw Fred Hicks.  Playtest applications should be out on their site for Dresden Files next month.  No timeframe for the playtest before final production.  Said there'd definitely be some changes from Spirit of the Century's rules, but how much, I don't know.

Oh, and Kevin said Palladium does have Robotech.  They were waiting ona final date change, which didn't arrive before he left to Gen Con, but they have it.  He asked me and a few others what we'd like to see for it, so if you want to start a different thread for that, please do, and I'll upchannel.

Pierce:  I heard no on Septimus, but will go check.  City of Brass is out, and doing well.

Paka has no mouth!

Seriously cool stuff zach. Must look for CoB then. I gave up about 9 months ago after keeping an eye on it for 2 and a half years.

Thanks for the photos. Now I almost have to buy Aces & Eights just because at least someone has dressed up nicely. I thought we Germans were bad when it comes to showing calves...

And there are at least three WW books where people are staring to the side, hair flowing in the wind. Is Fabio at GenCon?

Awesome, guys!

760 Patrons? LOL

In hindsight, WRT 4E, Mongoose's timing of their Traveller announcement was perfect. Ditto their release date, if they manage to keep it.
