This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Wow, that's a pretty broad question!  But here is my try...

1.  D&D (especially the Basic/RC version, but assume other versions are covered as well).
2.  Axis and Allies (I haven't played this in years, but countless hours in High School were devoted to this game).
3.  Civilisation (both versions 1 and 2; this game came pretty close to ruining my university studies).
4.  MERP (yeah, it's a flawed game, especially for Middle-earth, but some of my best role-playing memories from High School and University involve this RPG).
5.  Rolemaster 2e (I loved it as a toolbox for MERP).
6.  Baldur's Gate 2 (the best computer RPG, IME).
7.  Dragonquest (good memories of this game from way back).
8.  Runequest (another fun RPG from the days when I had endless time).
9.  Star Frontiers (my most fun playing a Sci-Fi RPG).
10. Neverwinter Nights (this game did a decent job in 'filling in' for my RPG needs during those times when I didn't have a RPG group over the past 4+ years; some of the fan-produced adventures were quite good).

Yeah, I was just curious as to the range of games that would be thrown out there... there were a lot of games that were on the edge that could have slipped in there...

Let's see. In no particular order, the only common thread that each of these games has provided a ton of enjoyment to me throughout the years:

Axis & Allies
Fortress America
Risk
D&D
Panzer Leader
Empire Earth
Traveller
HackMaster
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri
Gamma World
"Illegitimis non carborundum." - General Joseph "Vinegar Joe" Stilwell

4e definitely has an Old School feel. If you disagree, cool. I won\'t throw any hyperbole out to prove the point.

jdrakeh

In no certain order. . .

1. AD&D1e (You've heard of this, I'm sure)
2. Gateway to Apshai (C-64 dungeon crawl)
3. Maelstrom Storytelling (high concept RPG)
4. Star Wars (WEG, Second Edition)
5. Zombies!!! (boardgame)
6. The Dagger of Amon-Ra (PC game)
&. Classic Clue (boardgame)
9. Phantasmagoria (PC game)
10. Chronopia (fantasy minis game)

peteramthor

Morrow Project

RPG Haven choice.

I couldn't possibly put them in any kind of order:

D&D 3.x
Hackmaster
Marvel Superheros
Highlander CCG
Magic The Gathering (though I haven't played in forever :( )
Rolemaster (easily #1)
Hackmaster
Star Fleet Battles
Shadowrun 4th edition
new World of Darkness (I've only played Mage but the others look good too)

RPGObjects_chuck

1. d20
2. Marvel Superheroes FASERIP
3. AD&D 1e
4. Gamma World (3rd or 4th edition)
5. Diablo
6. Civilization IV
7. GURPs
8. Hero
9. Final Fantasy X (tough choice)
10. FASA Star Trek

Werekoala

In no particular order:

Traveller (LBBs)
Gamma World (1st)
GURPS (system, I know, but it counts)
Red Storm Rising (for the C-64 - I wore the label off that disc and still jones for it to this day)
Mech Brigade (C-64 again, my first multi-player computer game experience)
Dragon's Lair (if I had invested those quarters...)
Top Secret
Ringworld
Call of Cthulhu
Battletech

Honorable Mention - Harn (not a "game" until fairly recently, but the setting books and such were hard-core crack-porn to me back in the day. Still are.)

There are a few more close runners-up, but those are the first 10 I thought of. No D&D... what;'s wrong with me? ) All my group plays lately is 3.5 ...

Also, that list should make it pretty easy to guess my age within, say, 3 years? :)

Blackleaf

My top ten games of all time (in no particular order):

D&D -- Over the years I played AD&D the most, but prefer Moldvay B/X
Rage CCG -- My friend and I used to play from the same deck to remove the $=winning part of CCGs.
Balderdash -- My favourite family board game
Risk -- I used to really like this... not sure if I still do...
Warhammer / Warhammer 40K -- I played this a lot in highschool
Survive -- My brother and I would use the pieces to make up all sorts of new boardgames
Adventure Construction Set -- A video game that let you build your own cRPGs
Grim Fandango -- When I finished this game I had the same feeling as having watched a good movie or read a goodt book
It Came From the Desert -- Giant Ants! Amiga! Aaaah!
Gauntlet -- In the arcade. With the pizza.  Elf needs food... badly.

Wil

1. WitchCraft (rpg)
2. Chess
3. Shadowrun, 2nd ed (rpg)
4. Silver Age Sentinels - Tri-Stat (rpg)
5. Trivial Pursuit, any edition (board game)
6. Tetris (Game Boy (yes, the original one) vg)
7. Paranoia, 1st ed. (rpg)
8. Vampire, 2nd ed (rpg) - the caveat with this is that we barely used the rules at all and the setting was heavily re-imagined to fit the GM's campaign ideas. All together, it was about 80% home-brewed up.
9. Deus Ex (FPS)
10. Jedi Knight II (FPS)

(EDIT: I'm going to give an honorable mention to Delta Green. I've only gotten to play it once, but seldomly as a player, have I laughed so incredibly hard as in that session.)
