It looks like Fantasy Flight Games will be producing WHFR and Dark Heresy...

Well, I'm glad it ain't dead, but FFG only puts out an RPG product once in a millennium. They're nice products and nice looking, but the schedule is killer.

Cool here's to hoping (for the RPG) they keep the same mechanics.  Or if they do change them up do it in such away that conversion from the current to the new is possible.

I'm rather excited about the possibilities FFG generally puts out excellent products and I look forward to seeing what they'll do with the license.  Outside of the RPG it'll be interesting to see what they do with Talisman.  It's pretty much in direct competition with their Runebound game and their upcoming Warcraft Adventures game.  Should be interesting.

The press release indicates that this will be the case:

QuoteFFG will continue production and new-product support
for ... the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay RPG, and the new smash-hit Dark
Heresy RPG.

Their license sounds like it covers a bunch.  Card, board, and rpg for fantasy and 40k plus old games.  They might come up with some cool new stuff based on all the warhammer mythology.

I'm not really into warhammer but, as long as they can keep a decently strong publishing schedule, this could be cool.  FFG has experience but is small enough to care about warhammer sidelines in a way that GW apparently doesn't.

Good stuff.

I'd be intereseted to see whether they'll reprint any of the BI supplements.

A new, jazzed up version of The enemy Within would also be welcome.

Does this mean that we can have continuing arguments over Dark Heresy/WH40k RPGs now as each successive book comes out?

Sweet.

I am heartened by this news but wonder how its all going to work out.

Hmmm. Do you think warhammer roleplaying might finally be freed from the insane restrictions place upon it by the warpstone tossers?

FFG, needing to out feed their kids and whatnot, surely have an interest in producing crowd pleasing stuff like Space Marines and Assassins.

It's still be saddled with that aweful system though.

I've found that your posts make more sense when I imagine that you're typing this drivel while crying and whining in a high pitched baby voice.

Aww, poor Erik.  And he was so happy when BI dropped the ball, too.  Now he's going to have to get all upset again that someone is enjoying a game that he doesn't.

Double yes and a hearty "hey, lookatthem" for the rest of the blokes who added to the WHFRPG majesty that is.  Don't rock the boat, but use what you got, dig, FFG?  They got this shit down cold.

Man, these computers gotta come with a breathalyzer or something to keep my likkered up ass off of 'em, eh?  Wahoo!

Wait...what? What awful system? It's a good solid system that works. Granted, I'm basically a Warhammer n00b, but I like the system for WFRP 2e. So what's the problem?

If it's not "violence porn" enough, we can just jack up the power levels. That looks easy to do.

And if anyone cares, while I love WFRP 2e, I hate Dark Heresy. I see far more possibility and choice in WFRP 2e, but I felt absolutely depressed and straitjacketed after reading Dark Heresy, thus I returned the Dark Heresy book to the store. I know that sounds illogical, and I don't understand why I feel that way, but...:(

Good luck dude. Seriously. I'd totally dig seeing more of your work for Warhammer, considering the WFRP Companion is in my top three favorite WFRP books.

Good luck, dude. I'm sure your prior involvement in the WFRP line will be a mighty boost to your chances of landing the job.
