This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Your Local Game Store's Bargain Bin

As a snapshot of what's not so hot in my neck o' the woods - our local store today has:

- loads of Core Command rulebooks - TOTALLY OVERORDERED
- Spycraft
- Talislanta d20
- BESM Dungeon
- Cursed Empire supplements
- Obsidian
- Spacemaster
- Heroquest supplements

How about your local store ?

beeber

there was a BESM dungeon?

shows how up to date i've been (weak sigh)

as long as there are temple maidens, i guess it'd be okay :keke:

'Comic City' here has a ton of used and bargain stuff... in fact for RPGs it is all they carry. The list would be way to long.

Was even a box of WEG Indiania Jones still in shrink wrap.

Warthur

Gameskeeper in Oxford seem to be quite good at shifting product off the shelves - at any rate, the only bargain bin RPG stuff they have is a small selection of third-party D20 supplements.
I am no longer posting here or reading this forum because Pundit has regularly claimed credit for keeping this community active. I am sick of his bullshit for reasons I explain here and I don\'t want to contribute to anything he considers to be a personal success on his part.

I recommend The RPG Pub as a friendly place where RPGs can be discussed and where the guiding principles of moderation are "be kind to each other" and "no politics". It\'s pretty chill so far.

Place I work at doesn't have a "Bin".

When we do a DEEP discount on something or a product becomes a buy/get one - we put garishly bright orange sticker on it.

Right now the STAR TREK CCG is buy/get one, so are LOTR trading cards, the "WARS" CCG that Decipher did.

MAGE KNIGHT MINIONS boosters have been marked down to I think $1.99 each.

Starters of the MARVEl HeroClix that included Wolverine, Spiderman, and Electa are now $4.99 apiece.
All CRIMSON SKIES Squadron packs are $1.99 apiece.

SCENE IT the DVD game has been cut $20.00 in price.  (look behind me in the avatar pic, might be on the wall in that shot.)

There are two local shops here.  One never puts anything on discount.  It will grow old and turn to dust before they mark it down ten cents.  The other just doesn't keep stock in that long.  If he starts to get up a small stockpile of anything he takes it to a convention and unloads it.

So no bargain bins here.

My upper management marks stuff down when we decide there is no other way to get "movement" on the items.

Hell, I even LIKED Crimson Skies - but I was one of the few.  It never took off with the gaming world as a plastic minis game.

I used to work for a guy like this. He had mass market paper backs from the 70's that nobody wanted taking up floor space and gathering dust. when anyone ever brought up the idea of a clearance sale, he'd say, "I can't afford to sell them at a reduced price." He was also the same guy who would, every Novemeber, call a store meeting to tell everyone that the store was going to go out of business after the holidays due to low volume. He would then be taken completely by surprise as the Xmass shopping season got started- and then somehow manage to pull things together enough to keep the store open for another year. Rinse and repeat. At the time I worked there this had been going on for 14 years, and it is my understanding that he still has the pre-xmass doom meeting every year.
You are posting in a troll thread.

Hey we had a small group of about four people who liked it here.  But because of the lack of collectiblity others weren't even giving it a chance.  The one store still has several packs of it at full price and the other got rid of his long ago, probably at a convention.

I'm still thinking of using the Pilot/people figures in conjunction with a GURPS:CLIFFHANGERS scenario.

Say, um...have any of the Red Skull Legion or Black Swans blisters?

I would need to take a Digital Picture and post it. It seems to be predominately d20 and the odd Indy Games.

Red Skull Legion - YES, at least two or three packages of it ...maybe more.

So, you trash me in 1 thread and now you might want me to send you something after I purchase it for you ?

Oy Vey!!

Okay, Ian , shoot me a PM - Let's talk about it. I could send you a few of those. Hell, we might have 4 or 5 of those red Skull Squadron packs on the shelf.

I was a total dick to you in that thread.  You and James both.  Not that I think that was wrong on either count, but I'm uncomfortable with what a dick I was.  I'm genuinely sorry for behaving like that.

We also have ABUSE:The Final Insult maked down, Creatures & Cultists as well.

Not so much any role-playing stuff. Most of that sells pretty well for us - or at least my upper management doesn't order turkeys of that variety or they're spotting trends pretty well.

WWE/WWF CCG cards - 90% of those are all marked down to buy 1/Get 1.

Basically...if any of you think you'll be in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area - give me a heads up by e-mail and I'll let you know how to find the store. We're about to go through some interesting changes. , like possibly 3 times the floor space before Christmas hits.
