Good News and Update Time:

The game group finally got back together ealier this evening at my House and we continued from where we had stopped back in November.

This is the group I was referring to back in January - the most loyal and energetic player I had over the decades died of cancer New Year's Day.

Over the past month me and the other players e-mailed each other back and forth trying to figure out a day or time to game again (Unlike Shatner thinks in that infamous SNL sketch - we DO Have Lives)

So, the good Starfleet ship the USS Cochise NCC-530 weas putting up a fight versus a much larger and more lethal Pirate Ship and got beaten - but survived well enough to 'limp back' at warp speed to Starbase 11.

The last game we had in November ended on a cliffhanger with the start of the battle - tonight I had to conclude it and make it dramatic.

The other players voted and it was decided that the 'First Officer' character (the player who died) was injured in the battle and is now at a Starbase hospital - when she wakes up she will be promoted and get a command of her own . (Sort of the 'Susan Ivanova' solution.)

The game session's last hour was Commodore Stone tasking the group to come up with a plan to defeat and capture the pirates - and put an end to the problem in the area. They will get 4 to 5 starfleet ships attached to their command temporarily and a few impounded civilian ships might be available too.
