This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Yet another dnD/D20 poll. With a difference!

Damn but that is a completely awesome idea!  I'd play that at the drop of a hat.

I think an alternate history where philosophy instead of religion was the force that drove the masses.  Religion would be an odd footnote onle studied in university classes.

Then after a few weeks of modern warfare in 1000AD, I'd have the second coming show up.

This will just invite a lot of Holy Grail peasant scene jokes.

I voted "whatever". Even though I do like taking parts in arguments about games on the internet, that's more down to me a) wanting to flex my debating muscles and b) having strong views about what I enjoy in gaming, regardless of what internet people I probably won't ever game with enjoy.
I am no longer posting here or reading this forum because Pundit has regularly claimed credit for keeping this community active. I am sick of his bullshit for reasons I explain here and I don\'t want to contribute to anything he considers to be a personal success on his part.

I recommend The RPG Pub as a friendly place where RPGs can be discussed and where the guiding principles of moderation are "be kind to each other" and "no politics". It\'s pretty chill so far.

Just run a World War 2 game between the Fascists and Soviets. The RPG materials are already there, and it's the most famous clash of philosophies in recent history. If you wanted to avoid a war game, the Weimar Republic would be an ideal time as well. Open politically-motivated violence is going on, soviets and freikorps are forming and growing in power, and it's a state of borderline civil war. Michael Burleigh's The Third Reich: A New History contains tons of information about this period.
Running
The Pernicious Light, or The Wreckers of Sword Island;
A Goblin\'s Progress, or Of Cannons and Canons;
An Oration on the Dignity of Tash, or On the Elves and Their Lies
All for S&W Complete
Playing: Dark Heresy, WFRP 2e

 Hey if my forgetting-to-include-a-word typo gives you guys a cool campaign idea - then I'm all for that.

 I meant to type "War of Gaming Philosophy".

See thats what i really love about this site.  Because when you cut through the ranty crap and personality politics, there are some supercreative people here - all bubbling away and riffing off of each other.  Coming up with gems.

That comes closest to my response. I voted for "whatever", because I already have enough games to last me and my group forever, but I do think there is a revolution going on, and when it comes down to it, I'm a loyalist who doesn't really want to see the old regime replaced by the revolutionaries.

There must be something wrong with me...

Because I almost always want to see the old regime replaced by the revolutionaries.
