I buy things that work for my needs and preferences. I don't care about the politics the company behind those products prefers, provided they're not actually the KKK or American Communist Party or something. I am happy to shop at Hobby Lobby and Chick-Fil-A on the same day I shop at Ben and Jerry's and WOTC. My votes are, for the most part, left to the ballot box. Because making all of life about politics is just not a good way to live.

I tend to think the people working at WoTC are this way because there isn't any actual diversity at the company and the nonsense is kept on social media. Mike Mearls may be a big fat douche but he is smart enough to know not to virtue signal outside of Seattle.

  I can deal with disagreement from creators in media I love--George Lucas was a typical Hollywood liberal with dabblings in esoterica, Gene Roddenberry had some truly wrongheaded and obnoxious ideas about sex and religion--but when it goes from having wrong ideas, or even using them in media, to actively campaigning for things I consider harmful and condemning those of us who disagree as 'haters' or 'bigots', I tend to start to disconnect. In the RPG context, this has poisoned the well a bit for me regarding material from WotC, Green Ronin and Pelgrane Press, as well as Jonathan Tweet, who though very talented, has used his gaming material to fundraise for an organization I consider actively evil.  (Paizo doesn't count, since I was never a real fan to begin with.)

I only dislike WotC because I think they can't design for shit.

Companies being overtly political just means I support them less. Doesn't really effect my interest in the product.

The problem is that when the creator's personal values conflict with those of a broad section of society, he's inevitably going to try and legitimize them. To use an obvious example, movies have always been used as a vehicle to push increasing sexual license for no other reason than that actors and producers themselves have been a den of divorcees and perverts since the silent film era. Movies have always pushed as much as the current market would bear, and they're still pushing, since there are still things Hollywood personalities do that they have to keep under wraps, but feel we should all just lighten up about (remember how Hollywood reacted to us learning about Polanski).

Conservatives would have to make entertainment that isn't garbage, since the main mistake they make is to make preachy conservative content instead of good content. But as far as RPGs go, you could always play ACKS if WotC gets too heavy-handed with its messaging.
