Sort of. A lot of marketing wonks these days think social media is a reflection of actual market trends. Hint: it's not.

I've started scanning Kickstarters or game listings on DTRPG to see if a cultural or sensitivity consultant is listed in the credits. If so, it's an instant nah for me, dawg. Don't feed the grifters.

There was a Reddit thread about this. They were apparently going to go with Cortex, but couldn't work out a license with Fandom.

360k amassed and they didn't even have a deal in place for the game system that was purported to be used?
That's nuts and they should rightfully be lambasted for waiting till they had the money before dropping that bombshell.

There sure are. And they WILL continually find problems they need to fix to justify their existence. Purely anecdotal but I first ran into this in the mid late 90s. The first thing this person did was during company meetings, sat us so we were alternating races and sexes. Everyone tended to self segregate into groups, asians with asians, blacks with blacks,..... you get the picture. It's what every did at lunch for years, sure was some over lap but generally it's what everyone did. We were all mixed and matched in our different departments and lines when we were working and we got along just fine. But they saw a problem. I was younger and remember resenting it because why the hell do we need seating assignments, we aren't in grade in school. But pretty much everyone thought it was stupid. I never thought about it back then of it being a precursor for the some of the silliness we see today.

More on topic. I'm not a kickstarter kind of guy, but that into the mother lands ks looks like it has a lot of moving parts with a lot of extras. Is that common? And are most getting their printing done in China?
