This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Worst game world to live in?

The Forgotten Realms obviously because you'd spend half your life with your local barman crying on your shoulder going "*snif* I was an experienced warrior... *snif* and a secret agent... *sniff* and now I tend bar?  what the fuck happened to my life man?  I didn't see myself going out like this" and the rest of your time going "Oh not more fucking Drow, i thought you bastards were supposed to be rare and never venture to the surface!"

Warhammer FRP is up there (I mean, there are worse but ...). 40K might not be too bad if you managed a decent slot. Oppressive and ultra-grim, sure--but I bet you'd have a shot of a decent life if you got moderately lucky. I think it's harder to get lucky in the fantasy world.

Kult probably takes the cake though: aren't you tortured automatically after you die?

Dude, you're on a roll - hilarious!

That's the reason why death was invented in the first place: to make you forget everything, so that you wouldn't piece together enough information to realize that you could be a god.

No, it would actually be a painfully short, repitive, reincarnation, hearing about other people doing crazy Wu-Shu Fighting, and hoping one of the multiple Ultimate Beings in Creation keeps their perverted imaginations away from you and your town.

Gotta go with HoL.

Or 'Mutha Oith' from Low Life.

Any one who thinks he knows America has never been to America.

el diablo robotico

Gamma World would be pretty crummy. Or any of those post-apoc worlds where civilization has crumbled and there are monstrous mutated creatures roaming the world waiting to tear you to pieces. Meanwhile you have to avoid huge swaths of radiated areas to avoid mutations yourself.

"Year of the Zombie" would be a bad, bad time for all. Hungry walking dead, human predators, food and fuel shortages, rogue military and cops.

First of all: Thornhammer!  Great to see you on this board!

You think 'Mutha Oith' looks rough, eh?  I think if one were reincarnated as a native it would probably be no worse than a generic fantasy world.

Glad to be here.  :)

I adore Low Life as an example of worldmaking and as an example of how to do the design and theme of an RPG book right from cover to cover, but live there?  Yarf!
