Title: Why theRPGsite is "slower" on weekends
Post by: RPGPundit on September 16, 2006, 01:11:55 PM
Because we're ROLEPLAYING, obviously.

I'd say we're a forum with a good sense of priorities.

Either that, or there a bunch of folks who post from work.

Which means they're thinking about roleplaying rather than working... So either way they have their priorities straight.

I post from work more than at home.

I don't game on weekends. :)  Weekends are for going out and drinking.

I've got gaming and football on the weekends, so I'm either rolling the dice or cheering for my beloved Colts to make it to this year's Super Bowl (the NFL's equivalent of a "fantasy heartbreaker", I believe).

Well, LARPing, this weekend.

Also, drinking.  Also, going out dancing.

Mmm.  Dancing.

I've got a fast connection at work and dial-up at home.  Plus at home my family is a higher priority.

That'd be my guess.

Man, I wish this were true for me.  :(

Even when I am running a game (which I hope to be doing again in the near future), it always seems to end up on a weekday evening.  I would vastly prefer to run something on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, but IME it's been hard to find players for those times (at least in the 30+ age category).

I game on wednesdays, and spend weekends with my finacee.  It's good to know that most of those on this forum are adults who not only game, but also have real lives.

I always wonder if some people into gaming have real lives.

I live my "real life" from Mon-Wed, and Friday. Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday are for gaming (and Sat or Sun, when possible, for visiting the various street fairs and antique markets of Montevideo).

If it wasn't for the internet I'd actually get stuff done at work. I only wish I could game every weekend.

The last group I was in gamed on Wednesday nights. Weekends were for (non-gaming) friends and family. I have nothing really against gaming on weekends, but I've found that most of the people I'd be gaming with like to keep weekends open to spend time with their families. I would, too, but I'm also trying to get my fiancee interested in gaming.

I usually post to sites like this on weeknights and weekends when I'm not doing anything else.  I'm usually too busy at work to post during weekdays.

The truth is, :pundit: spends his weekends looking for capuchin porn* and thus ties up the server. Makes it real hard to get into the site.
