SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: JimBobOzThe whole thing was really sloppy and unprofessional in its approach. That said, Fallout fans are such that whatever you do with the setting, someone will scream and complain.
Oh yes, all too true. Fallout among CRPGs and Greyhawk among RPG settings are properties no mentally sound developer should ever touch. They have too much baggage and a fandom which will tear any new version to shreds without thinking.
Now with a Zine!

Attached are the first bits of the original fan-made free Fallout d20 (for some reason my computer will only let me upload 2 files at a time.).

Quote from: J ArcaneActually what surprises me about hearing how crap FOd20 apparently was turning out to be, is that Jason Mical, the writer of the PnP SPECIAL rules, is supposedly on the team at GCG.

Crazy. Is there any veracity to this claim or is this just the GCG guys trying to curry favor with SPECIAL fans?

His name is listed on the site, somewhere, though I had a hell of a time finding it last time I was there, and for all I know he doesn't really do much.  his name was pretty low on the list IIRC.

Given the general quality of their orgnization, it may just be that they ripped off some things from his SPECIAL writeup and they figured that slapping a name credit on there would get them off the hook.
