This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Why does the RPG site rock?

Seriously, the level of discourse and knowledge here blows every other site away.  (Even though I have to suffer -- albeit, thankfully, and only sporadically -- from :pundit:'s appalling ignorance of RM and MERP.)

Is it simply because I've had too many pints of Guinness tonight?

(Only 10!  It's metric!  :DRUNKANI: )

Well done, RPGsite and Pundit.  I salute you!

YEAH! WE ROCK!

WOOOOOOOOOOO!

Seriously, I have no idea why though.

It's because we're small. So the dickheads are obviously just individuals, and the individual good and sensible people can stand out more.

Wait till we have 10,000 members and 1,000 active members, and there are 22 mythusmages and 14 Mr. Analyticals and 55 Dominus Noxes and so on.

Meh... Mr. A's pissed me off once or twice and mythus mage has said some stupid shit, but they ain't so bad. At least not nearly as consistent about it as Nox.

Yeah, but just imagine having twenty of them. Sure, you also get twenty of the people you like talking to, but also twenty people who annoy you, even slightly.

It's easier to dismiss people who annoy you when they're only individuals. When there are screaming hordes of them, it makes the whole site seem more mediocre - just changes the feeling of the place.

Of course, rpg.net also has one thing therpgsite doesn't - the overflow of Forger refugees fleeing the closing of the Forge rpg theory subforum. So that brings the tone of the place down, making a few less front-page threads to be interested in.

Do one of her FHM shots, if that be your chosen avatar.

The site rocks because a) as JimBob said, it isn't big enough yet to get really profoundly retarded, and b) because it seems like most of the folks here are dedicated to free, open discussion.  And we have some kick-ass game designers and gamer types on board.

Anything but Alyson Hannigan. I can't take you seriously looking like that.

Why do you have to take the guy seriously?

Taking people seriously online leads to flamewars, hurt feelings and forum moderation.

I don't know if I won't have to have banned someone by that time or not, but I am willing to bet that one way or another if this place reaches 10k posters we'll still beat the pants off the other sites for quality of conversation.
Part of it is the commitment of all of the people here; but another big part is that the inherent premise of this site is that it values free constructive speech above anything else, and has a moderation team that will not abuse its power or use their mod powers to push their own ideology or agenda.

That's how it is now when we're closing on 1000 members, and that won't change if we have 10 000 or 100 000 members.

I don't know anything about any of that, but I def. prefer the Hanigan av. pics.!!!

Dominus Nox

This site rox because we have an abundance of free speech and a minimum of arrogance and hypocrisy.

IOW, we're the opposite of many game related sites.
RPGPundit is a fucking fascist asshole and a hypocritial megadouche.
