This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I have yet to write my review, but overall, it's a mixed bag.
There are parts that I probably would never need to use in 20 campaigns (expanded pipe and tobacco equipment), and some stuff with that I have issues (parts of The Setting, lizardman race with its heavy natural DR without real disadvantage, encounter section of expanded terrain tables).
I also missed some stuff that I'd expected, like some notes on creation, customization and generall kit-bashing of stuff such as races or spell lists.

However, there's also a lot of neat stuff, like ideas on spell list implementation setting-wise, everything else about the random terrain generator, sci-fi items, gunpowder weapons, and lots of fresh ammo (races, one new class, two new spell lists, new monsters, and enough random tables to choke a Dread Gazebo).

Overall, if you plan to GM FTA! for more then some try-out adventures, the neat stuff alone makes it seriously worth to get at least the PDF, with the weaker bits as bonus to the stuff that strikes your fancy.

So, am I still supposed to get a free electronic copy or something like that for the map?

(For anyone wondering why I haven't been posting here (A) I started a new job that's been keeping me fairly busy and (B) I kept looking at the "Why are you here?" thread on Off Topic trying to think of a good answer and kept facing the fact that I was spending way too much time on Off Topic and was spending less and less time reading threads on the Role-Playing Games forum and really need to get my interest in role-playing back up if I want to spend my time on a role-playing site.  There are much better and more appropriate forums for me to spend my day talking politics.)

Well, I've started reading it, and I like what I've seen so far.  I'm interested in running the game and have a few bits I'd really like to try out.
