This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Here's my re-mastered version of the 5th Pelinore module from GameMaster Publications - Carl Sargent's Rod of Seraillian. It's for 1e AD&D characters of levels 7-9. Enjoy!

You can also come up with something that is not only original and creative and artistic, but also maybe even decent, or moral if I can use words like that, or something that\'s like basically good -Lester Bangs

Just started playing a campaign with my kids and I'm using Pelinore, along with OSRIC & the new Dangerous Dungeons stuff from my upcoming book. Our first adventure entitled The Serpent's Venom, is from an old White Dwarf. Here's my version adapted for Pelinore:

The Serpent's Venom has been my go to scenario when I need a dungeon crawl of the top of my head for the last 20 years or so.

For some reason its a dungeon that has always stuck in my head from when I first read it. I run a lot of Sandbox games, so I find it handy to have a few dungeon layouts memorized in case I need to throw them into a game, and this is by far the one I use the most. (Although that has been curtailed as one player I have actually recognizes it now when I use it).

It has always worked pretty well, there's some interesting opportunities in it that start right away.

Some more in depth comments in the spoiler tag, because this only came out in 1984 and people may not have played it yet...

Spoiler
I really like the skeleton/goblin area at the start where you can fight either or somehow try to pit them against one another.

There are at least two times its been really memorable. A role-master game where I had the alter trap drop the player into a room with a Vile... requiring a new character. And a D&D game where one of the players successfully seduced Galadria and she ended up turning on her fellow cultists and became a long running NPC.

I like the whole tactical situation at the beginning. I also really like Galadria becoming a long-running nemesis. I think it's one of the best D&D rpg adventures ever written.
